It's a not for profit.  It provides services to the poor.

Something Proctors and Key Hall do NOT do but King Philip wants his fat taxpayer salary so he got $42 million in tax dollars to expand, he collects rents, hold very very VERY VERY expensive banquets, collects rents from assorted rentals inside, makes his volunteers pay, the charges in excess of $100 per seat for many shows (hardly a price a family in the city can afford), and there are two line items in the county budget that are for Proctors and the two roughly tally his salary.  But being no different than any Broadway theater,, no different than any banquet facility, and no different than any landlord, he manages to get designated as a not-for-profit.  An NFP theater is one that is run EXCLUSIVELY by volunteers, volunteers do the acting and behind the scenes work for shows and the like--CLEARLY something Proctors is NOT.

It will be moving to Broadway once the new Galesi Motel is finished being built.

Then they will be providing a nice profit for poor Galesi.

And then the city can give away the 4$ million YMCA to SCC.

where is anyone on any committee, council, etc., got common sense and knowledge of what is right and wrong...

homeowners have suffered long enough......and speaking of SCCC...have you ever been there and seen the line for scholarships????

amazing who can go to college free and those that have to pay.....it's just crazy........

we taxpayers should be exempt...be able to apply for a scholarship.......then things might be a little more even......

no wonder why this city is in dire straights.....all these so called "free loaders"   and I mean exempt....they all should pay their fair share....whatever

their status is.....no wonder you have the "freeloaders" in politics...... .
