See what I mean?
The death of this trooper means nothing except an opportunity for sarcasm.

These same posters will dial 911 and expect NY's troopers to come to their rescue...
and the troopers will.

Sarcasm?  You don't think a kill switch is a good common sense solution to prevent these types of tragedies?

Go ahead Cicero... since you state that your post is 'serious'...
Tell us how your envisioned "kill switch" would have saved this troopers life.

If a driver is witnessed driving unsafe, the officer can kill the power to the vehicle.  Maybe there can be something installed in cop cars that can send a signal out that will automatically slow vehicles approaching them during a traffic stop. All very good tools for public safety.

I'm amazed!!!
CICERO IS PROMOTING BIG GOVT, not only that, HE IS PROMOTING THAT THE GOVERNMENT
TAKE OVER CONTROL OF HIS PERSONAL PRIVATE PROPERTY... HIS CAR!
OF COURSE CICERO'S SYSTEM WILL BE FUNDED BY TAXPAYERS TO INSTALL THESE FEATURES.
WITH 300 MILLION CARS IN THE USA... WITH AT LEAST $100 PER VEHICLE I THINK THAT IS
$30 BILLION TAX INCREASE TO FUND CICERO'S GOVERNMENT CONTROL PROGRAM.

As comical is this is... Cicero may be on to something.  If all Guns in the USA were equipped
with a police "kill switch" just think how much safer it would be.

Law enforcement should have kill switches on everything - cars, airplanes, Internet, guns.  Funding isn't an issue, you just require the manufacturers or insurance companies to install the devices.  And if the owner of the vehicle disconnects the device, law enforcement can detect the lost signal and punish the driver with fines, loss of license, or jail time.  This is a common sense public safety solution.

Glad to see this isn't "sarcasm'!
I guess the death of a state trooper is too much for Cicero to ignore with out posting
his anti govt agenda.

As posted earlier... some on this board I suspect would smile when hearing of the
troopers death.

I don't understand??

Do you disagree with this solution to protect officers and the general public from maniacs like this man that ran down a state trooper?  How do you prevent this tragedy and tragedies like this from happening again?

I don't know.  Maybe we could get mandatory evaluation and counseling for cop haters like this
nutcase who killed the trooper.
Maybe someone who smiles or enjoys the needless death of a trooper would be a good place to
start.
I can think of at least two on this board who are good candidate for evaluation.

Ok...I agree...a mandatory psychological evaluation at the DMV to get the mental disposition of all drivers on the road that may have a predisposition for using a vehicle as a deadly weapon should be required.  That should screen out many.  But I also think the kill switch could act as a safety net to prevent those people whose psychological disposition may have changed between regularly mandated screenings from harming the public.

Speak to your NY State senator or assemblyman about your plan...
(NOTE: don't bring up your hatred of NY Police or any govt official or you may
be the first "mandatory psychological evaluation" even with out your law.)

I'm trying to garner public support.  Can I count on you to support this common sense solution for keeping officers and public roads safe?

BTW...in this plan, we will all be required, to make sure all drivers demonstrate to the DMV that licensed drivers are all thinking properly.

Must of been one of those carhuggers, blame the DMV for giving out licenses to anyone.

DMV and car manufacturers and insurance companies should be held responsible for allowing this to happen.

then there should be a kill switch on all war machines and drones so that good citizens can prevent their crazy a$$
government from sending fellow citizens off to be killed/maimed or psychologically damaged...oh wait, that's called
treason......

how safe we are...NOT, EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It is a horrible thing when a fellow human 'goes wrong' and kills/maims or psychologically damages another human....

Agreed and lets not forget his assault truck held a 20 gallon high capacity gas tank, again why do civilians need such large tanks, if the suspect had to stop and refill his gas tank this trooper might still be alive today.

There are certainly not enough common sense safety measures in place to protect the public from these types of drivers.  With more traffic stop safety checkpoints, along with psychological safety screening for licensed drivers, and federal regulations requiring vehicles sold in the US must be manufactured with a safety kill switch, I believe we could better protect the public and greatly reduce the number of these senseless tragedies.
