projection onto others

they never say 'I' or 'me'.......

they never say 'when I'.......

interesting.....

'when someone goes into a nursing home it blah blah blah...'
'when someone goes to war it blah blah blah....'

Some day, the he/she jack a** will be in a wheel chair and will try to get into a 3x3 bathroom-shower and not be able to maneuver and get stuck  (of course that is assuming, he/she slithers out of his/her rat hole) -- and realize what a complete sh*t head he/she was when he/she criticized the size of the bathroom-showers at the new nursing home.  My God what an idiot he/she is.

My next door neighbor had to put his wife in Glendale and before Medicaid starts to pay you must first spend all the money that belongs to her or at least half of all their money. The bill for his wife was $9000 per month for at least 4 years before he refused to pay any more.

That's a lot less than Kingsway Arms.

doing the work I do, YES bigger space is necessary especially since Americans have gotten MUCH larger in the waist area...
workers get hurt all the time trying to extend themselves, are there a$$hole workers, you betcha, but for the most part this is
'female work' and the pay shows it.....

a warehouse worker gets paid more
a city garbageman gets paid more
a plumber gets paid more
etc etc......

some folks do it because it's 'their calling',,,,that wears thin after awhile.....CNA's should be able to retire after 20years like a
police officer or a fire fighter......

you see, right now it's 'affordable' but if they were smart they would incorporate and sell their services to the government and
for the service of their community.....

Since it is a FACT that employees in wheelchairs can get into 5 x 5 cubicles in state offices, then it is a fACT that people in nursing homes do NOT need an 8 x8 roughly shower stall!

And there is NO NEED WHATSOEVER for them to have extravagant wall tile.  If acrylic is good enough for taxpayers in their homes, it's good enough for nursing homes.

And again PROOF that DV read my post so he LIES about me being on ignore.   ROFL

Obviously DV is eating daily at all the taxpayer funded restaurants and bakeries so he will need an oversized wheelchair and an oversized shower.

Does anyone know the price for residents of this nursing home?

Nursing homes cost approx. $11K/month/per resident...give or take a couple  thousand.
Medicaid/medicare pays approx. $6K/month/per resident....give or take a couple hundred.

The cost, per resident is determined by the level of care each one requires.

Private pay/long term insurance is where they make their money.

Now being that Glendale is majority folks with little or no money....coupled with union employees....they can only run this business in the RED.

The new Glendale Nursing Home came in under budget due to the great oversight done by our county leaders.
Because these wise and caring leaders took great care in planning it, the new facility looks beautiful and has many wonderful amenities to make life more pleasant for its residents.

with spacious showers

Faiola's mother, who is 80 and suffers from dementia, has been at Glendale for about four months.
.

I'm sure patients with dementia know the difference between a shower at home and a luxury shower   LOL

A wheel chair, or shower chair and then 1 to 2 staff members to assist. This shower represents what is needed to safely take care of geriatric patients. It may be more than some need, but it is not unreasonable. Small spaces are very difficult to safely maneuver in. Some patients also require additional equipment that, in this shower, can be accommodated without being directly in the water.   There is likely a sink in toilet in the room that is not visible from the angle of the photo...you know, like a regular bathroom. 😊

I couldn't imagined a toilet in a shower stall, well unless we are paying staff a salary, lavish benefits and bloated pension to rush over as soon as the patient is done taking a shower in order to dry the toilet so when the dry patient or a visitor uses the toilet they won't get their butt wet.

Most nursing homes have nothing that big and patients don't lack anything.

But if they are in a wheelchair, they will go in the shower themselves, they wouldn't need two staff people to assist. thus enough to accommodate a wheelchair

If they can't take a shower independently, I'd think they could be washed in the bed.  Do the two staff people assist in the shower get naked (LOL)?  Or do they put on galoshes, the rubber pants like people go fishing with walking into the water, and then wear a poncho?  How would a staff person who wears glasses be able to see what he/she is doing with the water "raining down" form the showerhead?

the size is so that staff can safely maneuver the debilitated person around without hurting themselves and/or the patient...

I will tell you that nursing homes have had to jumbo size beds/toilets/showers because most of America is overweight and
don't fit into standard size facilities.....

I've been nursing for over 20years and the super sizing of the elderly is astonishing.....which also puts people into homes
at younger and younger ages.....

not to mention just plain old bad diet choices that are NOT nutrient rich but a diet of 'enriched' and 'fortified' processed foods
Americans are told are healthy.

nutritious diets.....how do you get to maintain a good diet on pittance Social Sec and $15.00 worth of food stamps..... most elderly do not have the financial

means to eat right .....BUT sure that the government provides good pensions for those in the service of governing. ....triple dippers especially...

now if the family members who put their parent in the nursing home....would only go and visit them.......frequently...then it would make a lot of people

happy....this is .not a big deal for some.....
