Take a stand against what exactly?

Cicero blames US wars on the warriors.  He holds no responsibility for those wars himself as
he just exempts himself from all blame on the excuse that he never voted for those who
took us to war.
He blames the warrior for not 'refusing to fight' in a war, once he already signed a contract
and took an oath to possibly do so.
Cicero risks nothing by his "non stand" against the war.  He expects the warrior to not only fight
the wars Cicero deems 'just', but refuse to fight in the wars, that Cicero judges to be 'unjust'.

I can actually accept that argument. "Some" believe  joining the military is to protect their country(only to become disillusioned later on).  Many just join for money(the military people I talk to certainly make this the top of their reasons), and they joined for money WELL before 2008.

I am just one person, I took my stand, I told the dummy recruiter in HS to shove it.  And I will continue to speak to people about the history of the modern military adventurism and senseless wars, and the broken lives of returning soldiers.  I will show them the video that started this thread, then I will show the soldiers with missing limbs, the homeless vets, and the vets dying as the wait for medical care at the VA.  And I will say, don't blame a bad decision on politicians in light of all of these facts.  Is it worth destroying your life to serve a government that uses you as fodder in lands 10,000 miles away, just so you can be called a hero?

I would never accept my child to use the "blame the politician" excuse for the suffering caused while marching to their orders.

OMG!  I didn't realize that Our Own CICERO is a HERO!!!
He actually told a recruiter to SHOVE IT!
WOW!  What courage!
What Bravery!
What VALOR!

No wonder Cicero posts with disdain about our troops... They are just peons, while CICERO IS A
anti recruiter HERO!!!

A moment of science for all that Cicero risked in his brave and dangerous stand against the MAN!

{{{ Cicero moment}}}

I now look upon Cicero in a different light.  This lowly high school student (although he wasn't much
of a student of American History)...
Told an actual 'recruiter' to Shove It.

7th and 8th graders were impressed!!!

2014 Watchfire at NYS Fair Grounds attended by thousands.
Unbelievable time. Even with thousands attending, the crackling of the
fire is what you hear the most, and people just walking around shaking hands and just enjoying each other.

I told you, hero's are in storybooks.  I certainly don't want some sort of recognition or national holiday for not joining the military.  That was easy...so easy ANYBODY can do it.

Hey, the politicians you blame for the wars had one less bullet catcher to memorialize over decades of senseless wars.

So they torch flags? What's the point of this again?

Quoted Text
The Watchfire stems from the military tradition that following a battle or long march, a large fire would be started so those missing or lost could locate and rejoin their comrades.  Using that time honored model, we symbolically use the warmth and light of our Watchfire to guide everyone to join us in reflection of those comrades who have gone before us making our nation strong through their service and sacrifice.

It's also the proper way to destroy the flag.

I don't hate you for your hatred of Veterans (and anyone else in a uniform)....and you do hate them all.
I just have zero tolerance for your arrogant stupidity and pompous ignorance on the topic.
I know you don't hate the Holiday...because it affords you perks you had to do nothing to have.
Like I said, it's the people it represents you hate, and that is the sad part of it all...you want to make it
your agenda and don't even take the time to realize the reason you are the minuscule minority.

Joey, you don't like my opinion of modern military service.  Since you strongly disagree withl my opinions, you perceive my words as hatred, because you hate them.  Hatred would describe anger.  I am not angry.  Your post are nothing more than your projections of hatred onto me.  You HATE my opinions, so you project your hatred as if is mine.

Maybe I am of the minuscule minority.  I do not belong to the cult of militarism.  No need to get so worked up over it.

So the warrior signs a contract to fight any war, regardless if the warrior believes it's just or unjust?  Is that the agreement?  Why would any sane person sign such a contract?

Warriors take an oath to topple the Iraq government to prop up a new government?

Cissy is so concerned with his JUST or UNJUST wars.  HE decides which wars are JUST OR UNJUST.
HIS view is all that counts.
Suppose we go back in history and use Cicero's system.  Every man on Omaha beach would have
to first decide if the invasion is JUST OR UNJUST.  He then would presumably get to vote on the
invasion... then tally the vote and then if the decision is to invade, the invasion of Omaha beach
could proceed.
Meanwhile on Utah beach, the vote goes against the invasion... so there is no invasion on Utah and
the Germans move their entire force to Omaha and the US gets wiped out there.

Sounds like a great idea Cicero!!!  A war waged by vote.
The British are at the Battle of Saratoga ready to attack the colonial forces... Cicero and his
band of cowards decide that someone else has to do the fighting cause he has a hangnail and
would have a problem reloading that day... Cicero's band decides to sit out the battle in nearby
Albany... the British win the war... and Cicero accepts no blame for the outcome.

Cissy is exactly that.  A Sissy!
He wants his country... but not his government.
He wants all the benefits of the USA but none of the work or responsibility.
He's a spoiled child who wants everything all his way and lets others do the heavy lifting
so that he can sit behind a computer and type insults at those who are actually doing the
work of a democracy.

Cissy... you don't deserve the US military.  Why not go it on your own.  Set up your own
Army of War By Voting, and get out of the way for the rest of us who do care about the
USA and it's freedom.

Cicero is a waste of Democracy!

No dimwit...your words are words of hatred.
Your opinion means nothing to me because it has no value, it's an expressions of your sick hatred.
Here's a shocker....you are the miniscule minority!
You attack and put hatred upon people without knowing who they are, what they did or what they may stand for...
you stereotype people because they wear uniforms, and then you attack them for being in the military or police force or whatever.
You have no clue, yet you act with arrogance that you are all knowing.  Let me clue you in
Cissyboy...you don't know $hit outside of Cissyworld and your narrow minded miniscule brain!
Cissy like to dazzles us with egotistical bullshit........but continually baffles us with his arrogant stupidity.

I never said a vote.  Just retire.  The soldiers that believe in the fight can fight, but the soldiers that think it's an unjust or illegal war, they leave.  Is it that difficult?

BTW...Why are you going so far back in history?  Why not use the Iraq war scenario?
