I don't hate any day.  I laugh at silly state holidays.  One day that is definitely a waste of time is Election Day.

But enjoys having the day off and all the perks associated with them.
If a person wanted to express their displeasure, they would not take the day
off from work or take advantage of any of the perks of the day or have
cookout or go to cookout, etc., but Cissy likes having free stuff he did nothing to earn!

Cicero hates Election day, he hates Memorial day, he hates Veterans day, he hates the 4th of July,
Christmas, mothers day...
OK lets face it... with Cicero's view of life... EVERY DAY SUCKS!

...and everyone else's birthday except his; Thanksgiving; Presidents day;
Columbus day; graduation day (means they progressed beyond him);
Labor Day; Mondays; ......oh hell, guess you're right... HE WILL FIND A REASON
TO HATE ANY DAY!!!!

I've never witnessed two people get so upset because I don't celebrate some state holiday.  It's pretty funny.  You would think I'm desecrating grave sites.

Hey box, you guys remind me of those right wingers that b**ch about the "war on Christmas" because Macy's advertisements say happy holidays instead of Merry Christmas.

Too funny.  Memorial Day is like a religious observance for some.

As usual....WRONG! It's your hatred of the people that this day is about!

Don't hate them...I don't commemorate them, I DO feel sorry for them.  Big difference.  My non commemoration as well holding soldiers responsible for the destruction they carry out drives you and box crazy.  I don't buy into box's "blame the war not the warrior" bs.  I don't separate the war and the warrior.

It is YOU that HATE anybody that doesn't think the way they have been indoctrinated to think about military holiday's.

This is one of those Cicero is RIGHT the rest of America is WRONG.
I wouldn't have posted on this link at all except for my original Thank You, to RP who posted
the thread.
My only personal "commemoration" of this day was to attend the local Memorial Day Parade and
this evening a toast to all who have served their country at dinner.

I stand in the vast majority of Americans who recognize the effort of our servicemen and women.
You on the other hand blame the war on the warrior.  Does it bother you that you are almost alone
in this view?
You must know that on this issue, you are out of touch with Republicans, conservatives, democrats,
liberals, Ron Paul groupies, anti war protesters, pro war protesters...
The only place that you may find any support is among the 'anarchists' who hate everyone!

The modern conservative is engaged in one of man's oldest exercises in moral
philosophy; that is, the search for a superior moral justification for selfishness.

I don't hate you for your hatred of Veterans (and anyone else in a uniform)....and you do hate them all.
I just have zero tolerance for your arrogant stupidity and pompous ignorance on the topic.
I know you don't hate the Holiday...because it affords you perks you had to do nothing to have.
Like I said, it's the people it represents you hate, and that is the sad part of it all...you want to make it
your agenda and don't even take the time to realize the reason you are the minuscule minority.

I never said I was right...it's just one persons opinion.  It's you and Joey that get your panties in a wad.

Funny thing is...I've had disagreements on many issues on this message board, and when you hold a different opinion on an issue or person, I've never once called you a "hater" for your different view.  That's a pretty sophomoric argument.

Do you hate:

Evangelical Christians
Republicans
Libertarians
Tea Party supporters
"The rich"
Catholics
Koch Brothers
George W Bush
Rupert Murdock
Supporters of traditional marriage
Opponents of Obamacare
Critics of climate change

Box never sees his own hate, but god forbid you are critical of the person killing in the name of every American citizen - BOOM! You're a "hater".

CISSY!
God forbid you have a biased negative opinion of anyone
in any uniform....guess that's not hate???? Get real jackass...you are a hater, period!
You hate anyone that has something you don't or has earned something you can't
or has achieved anything because you haven't.  Your rants on this board are clear
evidence of your hatred and racism.

PS - You never say you are right, but you believe you are.
PPS - You never admit when you're proven wrong..takes a real man to do that!

As you are probably aware, in debate, ad hominem attacks are part of an argument.  My disagreement and personal opinion of military service have no basis in hate.  It is the stark reality of what the soldier is required to do. And in 50+ years, the American soldiers are corporate mercenaries - not defending the nation.

Box, you taught this to me when you told me to read War is a Racket.(published in 1935)

That was one General's personal opinion.  He has his... I have mine.  There is some truth to
his OPINION that he served US Corporations, not the nation.
BUT... (There's always a BUT)
The motives of a warrior are what ever they happen to be.  Some are mercenaries who fight for
the dollars or the excitement.
Some are patriots who go to war to SERVE and PROTECT their country.
Some are merely caught up in a war without dedication to country or $$$.
Many today join for a job, since the Bush Economic Meltdown, the military is a viable opportunity to
gain experience as well as serve their country.

What ever the warrior's motives, he serves his country.  Something you deny, or don't understand.
Your view of a "patriot" is what many Americans would call a traitor.
No one is forced to fight against their will.  Conscientious Objectors have been allowed in the US Military
since at least the Civil War.

Cissy wants the Warriors to do his bidding... he wants them to do what he doesn't have the balls to
do... to take a stand.

Take a stand against what exactly?

I can actually accept that argument. "Some" believe  joining the military is to protect their country(only to become disillusioned later on).  Many just join for money(the military people I talk to certainly make this the top of their reasons), and they joined for money WELL before 2008.

I am just one person, I took my stand, I told the dummy recruiter in HS to shove it.  And I will continue to speak to people about the history of the modern military adventurism and senseless wars, and the broken lives of returning soldiers.  I will show them the video that started this thread, then I will show the soldiers with missing limbs, the homeless vets, and the vets dying as the wait for medical care at the VA.  And I will say, don't blame a bad decision on politicians in light of all of these facts.  Is it worth destroying your life to serve a government that uses you as fodder in lands 10,000 miles away, just so you can be called a hero?

I would never accept my child to use the "blame the politician" excuse for the suffering caused while marching to their orders.
