Quoted from CICERO
I commemorate those people conscripted to fight against their will.  Their choice was between being jailed by their own government, or killing or dying in a land thousands if miles away from their family.

Makes ya wonder where all the bitterness and hatred came from with Cicero.

The modern conservative is engaged in one of man's oldest exercises in moral
philosophy; that is, the search for a superior moral justification for selfishness.

Actually some who refused to put on the uniform were sentenced to death and some were given life sentences, great choice, die for us or die by us.

Quoted Text
The Conscription Act of 1917 was passed in June. Conscripts were court-martialed by the Army if they refused to wear uniforms, bear arms, perform basic duties, or submit to military authority. Convicted objectors were often given long sentences of 20 years in Fort Leavenworth.[13] In 1918 Secretary Baker created the Board of Inquiry to question the conscientious objectors' sincerity.[14] Military tribunals tried men found by the Board to be insincere for a variety of offenses, sentencing 17 to death, 142 to life imprisonment, and 345 to penal labor camps.[14]

YOUR EDIT: They had a T W O C H O I C E S!!!"
You forgot the choice they made that got them in front of the court
to begin with...it was their choice to commit a crime.
Frankly, I wish they didn't have the option, because 2 of the "criminals"
in my unit were losers that I never would have trusted to be in combat
with...thankfully they both went AWOL during boot camp.

As for your reply and stupidity, as usual you simply DON'T GET IT!
Did you even graduate from school?
Your inability to comprehend is amazing...how do you
even make it through the day without assistance?
I guess it's an underlying cause for your racism and hatred!

Sorry, I was thinking more modern day.
Many things from back in the early era were crimes against humanity,
but thankfully most have been removed from our lives, like the one you refer to.
I believe the punishment today is court-martial and dishonorable discharge

It wasn't during the 60's.

It was jail.

You remember, that's when that new Muslim was born after his imprisonment.(Cassius Clay)

Right, and that was refusal to report.
Court-martials also gave prison sentences, but since they would be discharged at end
of prison term, many military courts chose to forgo the prison term and just discharge them.

Right, and that was refusal to report for involuntary servitude.

I don't hate any day.  I laugh at silly state holidays.  One day that is definitely a waste of time is Election Day.

Cicero hates Election day, he hates Memorial day, he hates Veterans day, he hates the 4th of July,
Christmas, mothers day...
OK lets face it... with Cicero's view of life... EVERY DAY SUCKS!
