so explain to me why being a soldier in a killing machine making minimum wage is a hero but someone making minimum wage
at some other sh!tty service job to support themselves is just a poor slob?

A hero in the military must go above the call of duty.  You cannot enlist in the military and expect to automatically be considered a hero.  Being drafted to go to Vietnam is not heroic either, it was against the persons will, at that point they were nothing more than government slaves sent to kill or die.  The draft dodger was the hero, since they took a heroic stand in the face of state punishment.

Jane Fonda would be proud of you .. everyone else thinks you're an idiot.

We are advised NOT to judge ALL Muslims by the actions of a few lunatics, but we are encouraged to judge ALL gun owners by the actions of a few lunatics.   Funny how that works.

See what I meant RP.  What you (and most AMERICANS) consider honorable and a noble endeavor,
people like Cicero and a few others on this board, consider evil.
They are a very tiny minority, but, as you can see... a vocal minority.

The modern conservative is engaged in one of man's oldest exercises in moral
philosophy; that is, the search for a superior moral justification for selfishness.

When did I say "evil"?  Actually, I would bet you consider the 9-11 attackers "evil"(as do I), but...among those in their society they are considered "heroic" for their "sacrific".  Are the 9-11 attackers less noble than any other soldier because of the method they used to accomplish a mission defined by their leader?  I'm sure you have the answer.

Read the definition of hero.  Jane Fonda wasn't a hero to you, but was to those that believed in her cause.  She risked her reputation and charges of treason for daring to do what she did.  You may not agree with her, but she did take a considerable risk she did not have to take.  She could have sat back while 58k of her fellow citizens died for no reason(except to make a few people millions of dollars off their dead bodies)

I have never supported an Al Qaeda leader, who was planning the murder of Americans... unlike Cissy, who
counts an Al Qaeda plotter among his best friends.

Most American military have never killed non combatants or civilians in a war.  Cicero doesn't believe it
but it's true.
Cissy's view of the military comes from comic books and anti govt propaganda.  His version of an
American Hero is Cliven Bundy or Timothy McVeigh.

Where do you come up with this stuff?  I don't have a hero.  Hero's are in story books.  When did I say Al Qaeda plotters were friends?  Are you falling off the rails too?  Actually, I said they were evil in post 34.  Try to get a grip man...

Don't worry those slobs are heroes to somebody be it their kids or their spouse, it takes a lot to go out every day and bust your a$$ for low wages. They don't get the parades or special privileges those who wear a uniform get even though they sacrifice just as much.

As far as I know, there is only one person who sobbed big tears when Al Qaeda terrorist Anwar al-Awlaki
was droned in Yemen.  YOU!

He was an American citizen.  I could give two shits about Awlaki, that could just as well have been you(who I also could give two shits about) and your son droned to death extra judicially without being charged or given due process. I would have even defended YOUR rights as a US citizen.  Not because I like you, but there is a process before you take life and property.  You on the other hand, if an American has a funny name and is legally visiting another country, and if the president thinks he needs to be killed in a land 10,000 away because he is an immediate threat to security, the president can count on your blind support, no evidence necessary.  That's why you "served" right?  To protect "our freedom"?

Ahhh, so you are an expert on military defense of the US and an expert on identification of actual threats to the US and US citizens
and are privy to all the information that the President must have in order to make such a choice.  So why don't you share some of
this top secret information that you base your opinion on so that we may all form similar opinions as you. How about it Cissy...you
seem to know so much more than we do to make these statements, so how about sharing??????
