I understand a mayor expecting high standards from employees, but the ACTUAL, UNAVOIDABLE, INCONTROVERTIBLE TRUTH is that taxes are so incredibly high -- because the ems have imposed the burden of downtown's taxes on residential property owners in the neighborhoods -- that staff in the city can't get all the work done timely.

City: Schenectady lawyer resigns over foreclosure cases

By PAUL NELSON
Updated 12:24 pm, Tuesday, April 8, 2014

SCHENECTADY — An attorney for the city has resigned after officials said he missed a key filing deadline for legal paper in foreclosure cases.

Assistant Corporation Counsel Frank Salamone's last day was Monday, according to his boss, City Corporation Counsel John Polster. Salamone had been with the city for about 15 months and was being paid about $60,000 a year.

Polster said Salamone left the counsel's office after missing a deadline that will slow the city's ability to foreclose on tax-delinquent properties.

"There were some untimely filings related to the foreclosure process," Polster said.

Mayor Gary McCarthy said: "I expect people to maintain high standards. If you can't do that, I encourage them to pursue other options in their career.  "We want to do things right. We want to do it right the first time."

Salamone could not immediately be reached for comment.

If McC did things right the first time, he would have stopped all tax exemptions on downtown.  McC is bleeding the financially struggling homeowners dry!

Optimists close their eyes and pretend problems are non existent.
Better to have open eyes, see the truths, acknowledge the negatives, and
speak up for the people rather than the politicos and their rich cronies.

This could get real messy like when some one else left the finance department.

It gets better and better everyday for a Hull/ Alliance/ Republican takeover in 2015! The news will get more worse for McThug as the days go by until Nov 2015! Taxes are on the rise folks! So are more Foreclosures! THE DEMS WILL NEVER STOP THE HIGH TAX BLEEDING OF THE PUBLIC. Poor Assistant Corporation Counsel Frank Salamone he is now McThug's official scapegoat for the foreclosure mess. So was Jason Cuthbert with the sales Tax fiasco. McThug never takes responsibility and blame for his FAILURES.

Frank Salamone should be a guest on Open Stage Media aka "Democrat's Propaganda Media outlet" to tell us his side of the story! This is highy unlikely. But we need to hear what this guy has to say and what he knows about McThug's cooking the numbers on Foreclosures and home sales. I suspect Foreclosures numbers are much more higher than reported. Home sale numbers are also much more lower than reported.

Expect more of the law department to leave.  Anyone Administration of this type is very hard on its law department.  And with McCarthy thinking he is going to do things different makes doing things legal very difficult.

McThug is spending more of his time and energy mailing letters to owners to pay back taxes. He should be focusing on ways to retain property owners. No but instead Mayor McThug is the "I want them out of business" tough guy approach with dealing with the property owners. McThug could have been a great Mayor of Schenectady if he had the same approach to eradicating the Drug dealers running his town (Galesi also part of the dealership). Instead he is the WORST MAYOR IN SCHENECTADY'S HISTORY! What a waste for a human being!

McCarthy should resign, he isn't doing anything right the first time.

I bet about 1% of voters will even know this happened. The Reps in Schenectady haven't done a good job of getting their message out in the past, and I'm not expecting much to change.

I bet about 1% of voters will even know this happened. The Reps in Schenectady haven't done a good job of getting their message out in the past, and I'm not expecting much to change.

Agreed...Hull is a Metroplex supporter.  Reps could care less about the taxpayers.  They know Metroplex holds the purse strings to any money in Schenectady.  They will sell our kids and grand kids down the river to line their pockets tomorrow.

I rather have Hull/ Republican/ Alliance running the show in Schenectady. It can't get any worse than what we have right now with 12 years of Stratton/ McThug. We have hit rock bottom people. Schenectady is going to get better if it is Hull or anyone else but a Democrat as Mayor. As for Metroplex it needs to be reformed a moratorium on tax exemptions, Metroplex needs to expand it's efforts more in to the neighborhoods and Metroplex need to attract other Developers to Schenectady other than Galesi. There is alot of resentment toward Metroplex because Ray Gillen has polarized the agency with the Democrats and Galesi. This is why the public is outraged. Take your aggressions out on those in power not the ones sitting on the sidelines. Metroplex is a great tool but it is not being utlized to benefit the tax payers. The Dems and rich cronies are benefiting.

HEY................isn't this AGello and Gerard Parsnipi's  turncoat friend?
