It's not an incentive. Not ALL businesses are eligible. Taxpayer money is "invested" into private businesses based on the opinion of a politically selected agency.
I do agree, it is working, for the businesses that get the money and for the political parties that gets the campaign contributions. As for the residents of Schenectady County, money continues to get sucked out of their pockets.
Ironic that the metroplex has FAILED in the three simple objectives they sought out to accomplish:
"The Schenectady County Metroplex Development Authority's works to attract new jobs and new investment to Schenectady County. Its efforts focus on key commercial corridors and business parks strategically located throughout the County with a special emphasis on redevelopment of the downtown area in the City of Schenectady.
We are guided by the three criteria: 1.to expand the county's property tax base; 2.to expand the sales tax base; and 3.to create and retain jobs."
The tax base in the City is decimated. The sales tax in Schenectady county is down 4%. Jobs in the City are dishwasher/server/part-time/no-benefit jobs, meanwhile the GE battery plant moved South..plus another 200 layoffs in GE left.
Yep... order yet another $3million dollar burrito on the backs of the Cityand Countytaxpayers....

Yes true, and DV will NOT address the TRUTH. Just keeps on talking about all that food he eats. But of course he couldn't even cook a TV dinner---why else is it necessary for a 50+ yr old to live with two nannies?

Ronnie,
Saw you last Friday day. It was about 11:30am and you looked like you just rolled out of bed. Hair all a mess, cloths wrinkled. You need to invest in a mirror and might want to stay away from the hi calorie foods for about a year. Your aunts might be scheduling you an intervention any day now. Take care Ronnie!

(I am a truthful man, From the land of the palm. Before dying, I want to Share these poems of my soul.)
[Chorus (after each verse):] Guantanamera! Guajira! Guantanamera! Guantanamera! Guajira! Guantanamera!
(My verses are light green, But they are also flaming red. My verses are like a wounded fawn, Seeking refuge in the mountain.)
(I cultivate a white rose In June and in January For the sincere friend Who gives me his hand.)
(And for the cruel one who would tear out This heart with which I live. I cultivate neither thistles nor nettles I cultivate a white rose.)
(With the poor people of this earth, I want to share my lot. The little streams of the mountains Please me more than the sea.)

Wait, isn't there a food pantry in there?
Well, perhaps Ronnie is thinking "no one knows you when you're down and out."

For sure we all know Ronnie DV will be at Mexican radio on opening day.
We should all go there too
It will be a great scene to see him in his cheerleader outfit and his pom poms in hand.
By the way, what is the color scheme for cheerleaders for the spending of tax money on the rich downtown?
