The grand opening is right around the corner.

The RENAISSANCE of the City-County of Schenectady continues.

Here here
Cheer cheer
One more taxpayer funded tax exempt  gin mill opens
And 600 more homes go to foreclosure
And even before the foreclosures the tax base in the city has dropped by $12 MILLION (and that's before all the successful grievances which will drop the tax base even more)

DV, do you REALLY think 600 more fore closures is a good thing?

DO you REALLY think that a $12 MILLION drop in he tax means that the city is in a renaissance?

Are you really trying to make your fellow dems think you are THAT stupid?

What corner? The Chamber "opening" event at Mexican Radio in April has been pushed to TBA. More crapola to cover the mess that is Schenectady County.
Highest teen pregnancy rate in the country, worst roads, library cutbacks and closure of Hamilton Hill branch by DEM racists, small business freeze by incompetent Mayor supported
by Gazetto. And what about lower State? Burnt out blitz zone where Death Ray's Ditch sits as a monument to DEM "planning". Don't fret they have a plan for 2095.
BTW, what's the latest on the empty Trustco HQ on Erie Boulevard?

I was in Greenville, SC last week...

Was downtown one night, and two separate people were telling us of the huge changes within 10-12 years.  The downtown was vibrant - probably I'd guess about a 30-40 square blocks of restaurants, bars, stores...  Even Brooks Brothers just opened.

Now the economics of Greenville are different - it's a growing area, with BMW and other major employers nearby.  To an extent it is what this area used to be.

However with the massive investment that Metroplex has wasted for an improvement of what, about 4-5 square blocks...

What an abysmal failure.

Yes tax incentives are needed, but not the ludicrous amounts that the incompetents in our leadership have granted...  Which now sets expectations for any new businesses that might have some interest in moving there.

The owners invested many times more than the incentives that they received to fix up a 150+ year old building and set up a new business.  Without the OWNERS investment this building would have remained empty and, most likely, eventually would have collapsed or been torn down.

The FACT is that EVERY state --including South Carolina -- uses incentives to attract new businesses.  Anybody who think/believes otherwise is an ignorant fool.
The FACT is that the incompetent Republicans who ran Schenectady during the Boob Farley-Jurzynski years turned the downtown into a ghost town ... and how much money did they waste in their feeble-minded, incompetent attempts at economic redevelopment.

The FACT is that in the past 10 years Downtown and other parts of the City-County of Schenectady have begun to experience real economic revival because of great leadership in the county and the city.

Anyway --- The Grand Opening is around the corner!  The Renaissance continues!   Look out for more great news for the City-County of Schenectady in the weeks and months ahead!

The FACT is that in the past 10 years the dems have built a whole bunch of gin mills at taxpayer expense and in so doing   have caused a MASSIVE REDUCTION in the tax base in the city, which has caused
MASSIVE INCREASED in taxes
MASSIVE REDUCTION in home values
MASSIVE REDUCTION in home sales
MASSIVE REDUCTION in home sale prices
MASSIVE INCREASE in tax foreclosures
MASSIVE INCREASE in blight thought the neighborhoods where people live
MASSIVE INCREASE in people FLEEING the city.

So now tell us DV, why do you REFUSE to live in the city??????

Tell us DV. tell is what have the homeowners and taxpayer in the city gotten in return for their "investment"    ??????
Come on ya big chicken DV, answer that question!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Tell us what has happened to home values..
Tell us what ha happened to tab bills
Tell us what has happened to the appearance of the neighborhoods where people actually live
Etc.

He will NEVER respond to that question, pretends he doesn't see that question.

Metroplex isn't a tax incentive, it is a DIRECT INVESTMENT of taxpayer money with no return on the investment.  The county resident puts up the money and the private business that is politically selected to get the money, gets the return.  If the metroplex funded business fails, the taxpayer still has to pay the principle + interest on the Metrolex bond.  It's really a crime.  Privatized profits and public loses.  All while the infrastructure is crumbling.

You are so right on that.

And DV REFUSES to respond and tell us what the homeowner taxpayers in the city have gotten in return for their "forced investment."   He just conveniently avoids address the details.

ANY type of assistance to a new business/economic development project is an INCENTIVE.  I purposely used the word INCENTIVE without specifying a specific form of incentive.  The FACT is that EVERY state uses some form of incentive to attract and retain businesses.  The most successful communities offer some form of incentive to attract and retain business.
What Metroplex does is sound, solid, perfectly-by-the-books ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT.  The real crime is that ignorant dumb-a** nayboobs can't seem to comprehend how this works nor admit - despite the OVERWHELMING EVIDENCE ALL AROUND that it is working.   The City-County of Schenectady IS on the positive road to economic recovery/redevelopment.  It is light years ahead of where it was under the FAILED, INCOMPETENT management of Boob Farley (the old GOP leadership at the county level) and Duci-Jurzynski (at the city level).
