Isn't that the line at the job fair for Villa Italia, Bombers, Clinton's Ditch, and the rest of the tax exempt businesses?

hell no!!! There aren't that many people in Schenectady looking for work. They survive better on welfare.

The scum survive better on welfare, those who want to work have a tough time finding any job in this city. I went to a job opening on State St and the place was mobbed by people trying to get the few positions that were available and I mean mobbed. Crazy part was it really wasn't nothing special job wise, it was manual labor positions and you had people there coming in with suits on, it looks like they haven't worked a hard day in their lives.

I'm sure there are some who are serious about employment. But there are some on unemployment/city mission/welfare that HAVE to seek employment in order to keep their benefits. And they need SIGNED PROOF that they were applying.

However.........the supply and demand for jobs is clearly NOT sufficient!

The system is messed up.  The Housing Authority only opens the list up once every 5 years or so.  Therefore the people on the list are basically commiting to needing assistance forever.

looks like the supply and demand for low income/senior housing is not sufficient either.

Oh, don't worry about this... Schenectady has Galesi to keep the DSS doors revolving...

"Jan 14, 2013, 11:28am EST Updated: Jan 14, 2013, 3:54pm EST Albany Business Review

Galesi Group, Bonacio, teaming on $25 million project in Schenectady

The Galesi Group and Bonacio Construction are teaming up again, this time on a $25 million renovation of an historic building in Schenectady, NY, into 155 units of low-income housing.

Financing for the work at 845 Broadway was finalized with an allocation of more than $11 million in state tax credits for low-income housing, according to the Schenectady Metroplex Development Authority.

......
Both buildings were later owned by chemical manufacturer Schenectady International. The buildings were donated to a non-profit that intended to offer low-income housing to veterans, but that project was blocked by the city.

The Galesi Group bought both buildings in 2007 for about $760,000."

Looks like the Galesi Ghetto is expanding with a whole new tenement in the works. Again, the taxpayers lose.

Yup you are correct and I didn't even think of that, that is why welfare should have a automatic cut off date no ifs, ands, or buts.

So let's get this right.  The billionaire political crony of the city/co/plex dems gets taxpayer money for this project.

Then the rich crony will be exempt from property taxes on the building

Then the rich crony will be collecting rents funded from our tax dollars.

Meanwhile, the long time taxpaying homeowners of the city struggle financially.

It is quite apparent that the mayor and his dem council are trying to put city homeowners in the poor house to help Galesi get richer on more tax dollars to put the homeowners in more taxpayer paid Galesi housing projects so he can get more money from the rest of us taxpayers.

And kick backs from Galesi to the city/co/plex dems.

How else does the mayor and the dems on the council afford to pay the high taxes in the city?  Well, of course the mayor is double dipping.  Wait, Porterfield is like DV, she is an adult who has not left the nest yet, not self-sufficient, and her mama pays next to nothing in taxes.  Perazzo lives off the taxpayer dole as an employee of Proctors.  Erickson needs help from those kickbacks to pay the taxes on his vacant house that no one wants to buy, sitting there unsold after how long (but won't reduce the asking price).  King lives of taxpayer dole.

Optimists close their eyes and pretend problems are non existent.
Better to have open eyes, see the truths, acknowledge the negatives, and
speak up for the people rather than the politicos and their rich cronies.

Don't forget to add John Mootooveren and wife Rita to the list trying to sell their house on 1126 Crane Street Schenectady. Moot is also unemployed living off the taxpayers checks from city council seat. No one wants to hire him...resume must be flawed...
