Man accused of burglarizing Schenectady home, menacing occupants

SCHENECTADY — An intoxicated burglar walked into a Schenectady Street residence with a gun and menaced the resident, authorities said.

Jeffrey Hilts, 48, of 316 Paige St., faces one count of first-degree burglary, along with two weapons counts and a menacing charge.

He is accused of forcing his way into the victim’s apartment March 10 and placing the resident in fear of being shot, according to papers.

Thank goodness the resident was not hurt. If the perp had come into my house the headlines might read alittle different.
