Decreases in employment rates among teens and young adults in the Albany-Schenectady-Troy metro area mirrored declining employment rates in the nation’s 100 largest metro areas over the past twelve years.

In the Albany-Schenectady-Troy metropolitan area, the youngest job seekers were hit the hardest. The employment rate for job seekers ages 16 to 19 decreased 14.2 percentage points over the past 12 years, dropping from 42.9 percent in 2000 to 28.7 percent in 2012. That's according to a study released today by the Brookings Institution, a public policy organization based in Washington DC.

It goes to show how bad our tax money was wasted downtown, millions spent and no net gain of jobs. Somebody show me ONE benefit, other than the obvious benefit to the connected, finger-in-the-pie crowd.

it's the TYPE of jobs around...

we have 2 choices:

1. low paying service
2. high paying college educated

there is no middle and even if you are college educated the jobs are few....every time they talk about a tech company
opening up it's usually under 50 job openings....tech requires less human workers...

the future is coming and everyone in the service sector should have wages tripled......because there is nothing else.

that's why the feds want increase in minimum wage and overtime changes and to be able to 'collect' on those
under the table tips that service workers heavily rely on....the truth that isn't told is that when a service worker
gets a $1 tip it's actually worth 3 times what a paycheck raise is worth.....

the system is fishing for value and they will squeeze our balls for every last drop.....

...you are a product of your environment, your environment is a product of your priorities, your priorities are a product of you......

The replacement of morality and conscience with law produces a deadly paradox.
