Oh, the law dictates that the financially struggling homeowners are mandated to pay for the demolition of a building owned by a multibillionaire who donates generously to the dem party in return for not having to pay ANY property and school taxes in the city????

Also, DV, the taxpayers in the city would not have to be paying for all this if your dems didn't jack up the taxes so high that people abandoned their houses and fled the city.

And it is NOT YORU federal tax dollars.  It is the tax dollars of the LOCAL CITY HOMEOWNERS!!!!   Hello!  The feds LOAN federal money to the city TEMPORARILY then the LOCAL CITY TAXPAYERS (of which you are NOT such a taxpayer) pay it back.   The NET RESULT is the local city homewners FULLY 100% fund this demolition.  

Galesi is so filthy rich that he has billions more than he knows what to do with, but he will NOT PAY ONE PENNYH!!!   The homeowners in the city typical annual household incomes of jut a paltry $40,000 will be paying their own property and school taxes, AND they will be paying the property and school taxes on the apartment building once it's done, AND they will be paying the cost of demolion of a building owned by a multibillionaire!


And THAT, DV, is UNDISPUTABLE FACT!!!!!!!!!!!!!.   And because of it, the tax base in the city falls more, the home values go down more, home sale prices fall more, home sales fall more, more property in the city becomes vacant as people flee from the city when they can't sell their house, taxes will go up more, more homeowners will lose their homes because they can't pay the taxes of a billionaire political crony of the dems so that will be more tax foreclosed properties in the city, which will mean even less taxes collected in the city which will lead to more tax increases which will lead to more people leaving the city, more abandoned homes, more blight, and it's NEVER ENDING.

So DV, we all await your explanation citing evidence that the city is better off now than prior to Stratton, we await you presenting evidence of lower taxes, higher tax base, people fighting to buy homes in the city, home values going up.  Can you respond to that?

DV, you STILL have  not provided evidence, citing which law (with a link to it's complete text) that says that financially struggling homeowners MSUT pay for the demolition of a property owned by a filthy rich multibillionaire.

I'm betting that they are not necessarily the ones in the worst condition, or the ones most troublesome to the neighborhoods.
BTW, in the area downtown where Union College/Roger Hull was criticized for taking property off the tax rolls, the city has not done a damned thing to stop the erosion of the rest of the houses. They stole that apartment building from the family that got behind on the taxes, but it won't do any good remodeling one building when the rest of the neighborhood is rotting to the ground. What's next? Another loan that has to be paid back to finish off that neighborhood? I don't think these people understand the concept of neighborhoods.

Yup.   Just looking at some of these homes that we know about you can tell that they are not the worst ones.....which only means that there are fishy things going on.  Take a look at 870 Eastern Ave.  We are going to spend $30,000 to rip it down?  It doesnt even look unoccupied.  Vinyl sided.  Well kept looking.  Dont' know what the inside looks like but you can tell that there is no risk for collapse.   And the TAXES ARE BEING PAID! Please explain WHY Schenectady would not be able to demolish the eyesores?    

Instead of the city spending tax dollars on buildings and projects for their multimillionaire political cronies, the city could make their cronies spend their own money then the city would have money to demolish the buildings.   But obviously it's only people who are taxpayers that can understand that simple concept.
