too many NIMBY's in this town - won't happen.  Albany, MAYBE.

Who would object to business going in to replace business in a business area? Nobody. You know who will object? Sonic Corp. These chains always seem to avoid areas with any established 'foot traffic', and look for the areas experiencing population growth. Or at least a shift out of the older areas.

I'm guessing Malta.  Or Colonie.

I could see one going in part of the parcel where the K-Mart use to be on Central?

Where KMart was, the wouldn't want to go there because of that poverty encampment across the road. I see that Colonie has succeeded in finally starting to shut down those motels over 'safety', but how much do you want to bet they don't fix up the places at all, just push all the residents somewhere else? I can guess where that would be.

Buy out Jumpin' Jacks and put it there.

While the ice cream may or may not be better than JJ, we certainly know the food will be.

No one cares about foot traffic they will look at the insane taxes in this County and go to either Colonie or Clifton Park. Wolf Rd or Rt 9 in Clifton Park. Good news love Sonic!

There are a number of good sites for Sonic in Rotterdam.  I would welcome there coming to town - as I would any new business.  Although, I would prefer to see an Arby's and a Whataburger  come in first.  We could also use a good Indian restaurant, a good Moroccan restaurant and a good Japanese restaurant.

Japanese food is wonderful. I thought I heard that a Sonic was going to move into the Jumping Jacks, what happened to that?

They found out this area has a "planning expert" with imaginary girlfriends, so they looked for places with only 'normal' people for them to deal with.

I can think of several times this has happened.  One, prominently in the middle of town, was CVS wanting to build where that pizza shop was on Guilderland Ave.   No way, not in THEIR back yards!!

How about Walmart building in Rottedam .. nope, not in THEIR back yards either.

and the list goes on.
