SCHENECTADY - Proctor's is responding to complaints from people who want a refund.
Many chose not to go to last night's Alton Brown show because of the snow, and they want their money back.
Proctors released a statement saying their ticket policy clearly states: "if a performance takes place, despite adverse weather conditions, proctors will not issue refunds or exchanges to patrons who do not attend. The only time a refund will be issued is when a performance is canceled."
Anyone with questions should call the box office at 518-246-6204.

I wonder how many people complained, and did they call the news station themselves? I thought everybody knew that if an event takes place and you don't go, you can't get your money back. Interesting.

Everybody wants their burger their way....I think if your zip code is a Schenectady zip code you get a refund. if you are
from another zip you don't.

it's only 'fair' to give back to the taxpayers and the redistribution.

Given that even the governor declared a state of emergency, King Phillip should have cancelled.

However, the greedy guy instead chose to rape those who had those who made a choice not to jeopardize their lives.

Actually, anybody stupid enough to buy a ticket to see Alton Brown doesn't deserve a refund.

I'm also wondering how many tickets were sold, and how many attended the show?

I would prefer eating anything that Alton Brown prepares rather than eat the crap you call food goatboy.

I read/heard the numbers somewhere. I can't seem to find them now, but I think there were about 2,500 tickets sold, and about 200 didn't attend. I'm not sure how many actually asked for a refund. I'll see if I can locate the article.

I'm beginning to see why people are getting angry. I can't say that I care much for the tone of some of the posters, either. "We made it" is a rather rude remark. Just because one does something foolhardy and arrives in one piece, does not mean that others should take the same chance. That's exactly what it is, a chance. You can be the best driver in the world, with the safest vehicle, and you still can't avoid other vehicles sliding around the road sometimes. People with dependents have to think twice before they go out to play demolition derby in the snow.

#1, DV, you can't cook worth sh*t proven by the fact that you do NOT have a restaurant nor tv cooking show of your own.  You don't even work at a restaurant.   Apparently you can't cook at all given how much you go out to eat.

#2.  The issue is not whether the event was a cooking show or ANY OTHER SHOW, the issue is that the GREEDY dem cronie King Phillip refused to give refused to cancel a show during a state of emergency, he refuses to give refunds, instead he is stealing the peoples' money, just like he steals from the volunteers; just like he stole from the taxpayers by LYING on his STAR application (a legal document); just like he steals from the taxpayers by not paying any taxes on an alleged not for profit for which he provides no services whatsoever to the poor - can't even put on a Thanksgiving dinner for the city's poor people nor the homeless at his lavish "not-for-profit banquet hall!

#3 the snippy tone by the person on facebook.
I didn't know who Alton Brown was, I had to look it up, but he obviously has a lot of very dedicated fans. Goatboy calls us negative, and here he insults the intelligence of people he doesn't even know.
I think the fact that Governor Cuomo declared a state of emergency Thursday night, warrants some special consideration for the ticketholders who didn't attend. I forgot that he had done that, but when a state of emergency is declared, they ask people to stay off the roads if at all possible, so emergency crews have less to deal with.

Obviously he didn't know King Jr was having a show Thursday night ... else King Sr would have said "Everyone off the roads, unless you're going to Proctors"

Calling for a state of emergency is nothing more than a money grab. We have become a nation of cry babies.

if the tickets say 'no refunds'.....then it's a dead issue!

Buyer beware.

I'm not a fan of proctors....but really!
