Our tax dollars pay for the new 911 dispatch.  We pay for a brand new sidewalk there.

And then they don't shovel the sidewalk there!

Make people walk in the road and almost get hit

Nice going of the dem party govt.

Curious, is it supposed to be the town or the property owners such as on Hamburg who are supposed to shovel whatever sidewalk they have

Optimists close their eyes and pretend problems are non existent.
Better to have open eyes, see the truths, acknowledge the negatives, and
speak up for the people rather than the politicos and their rich cronies.

No wonder younger people don't even know sidewalks are to be shoveled.
The Subway shop on upper Union Street clears its parking lot but shoves a wall of snow across the sidewalks. You have to walk in busy Dean Street. So much for a "walkable" city.
As far as I know, Colonie along Central Avenue is the only municipality that does sidewalks, but I'm not 100% certain of what's on the books in Rotterdam.
It never seems to be the elderly or handicapped households that don't bother with their sidewalks here in the city.

The businesses should be removing the snow, not just pushing it around. My snow is piled on my lawn and on the strip next to the street. It is difficult when we have really big snowstorms, but we haven't had THAT much snow yet.
I noticed that one business on Union Street did remove all the snow out front, all the way to the curb, after our last snowstorm, but the city didn't do a decent job of plowing out the adjacent parking area. I think that the city should perhaps aid the Union Street businesses more with snow removal, but they can't even manage to do all the streets, so that's out.

A friend of ours lives on a street in Woodlawn. Today they said a pick up truck with a plow on it, with a woman driver, plowed their street. Not only are their driveways plowed in.....but this 'truck' got stuck!!!!!!
