All around the city, there are snow emergencies declared.

Even the gov declared a "state" of emergency in the whole state of NY.

But the dem o nothing mayor and his equally do nothing largely unelected dem council, has not (and will not) declare a snow emergency.

Can't spend the taxpayers' money to provide good services to the taxpayers', just take the taxpayers' money and give it to Galesi and all the other political cronies.

Coirruption is alive and well in Schenectady.   Mis-use of the taxpayer's money is alive and well in Schenectady.

We don't live in the city.  But those who do live in the city, why do they live there?  Because they can't sell their houses in order to move out.

Well, forget about a decent plowing job. There's one fat slob little queen of everything, has a job doing nothing of any use to anyone, at a prominent local NFP, she doesn't even want ALTERNATE SIDE PARKING enforced, because she doesn't have a driveway. Just for kicks, drive around some of the surrounding areas, the nice ones, see if you can leave your cars overnight on those streets, even without a snow emergency. This heifer, however, can't take responsibility for her own parking, oh, no, the city owes her a place to park on the street which DOES NOT BELONG TO HER. No one else can have their streets properly cleared for safety and to prevent damage to our expensive vehicles, because of a few lazy selfish slobs with big mouths.
If you don't like the inconvenience of having to move your car off of the street, even just to the other side, MOVE! Buy yourself a place with a driveway!
You can't even begin to do snow removal properly with cars on the street. Period. McCarthy is a failure, because this important function is beyond him. It is too bad he won't see this, also the fat lazy good for nothing Queen of Schenectady.
Does anyone believe that Roger Hull wouldn't at least have the snow cleared properly? No excuse is good enough, none at all.

Are you really surprised? If McCheese towed any cars he would lose the few idiots that still support him. As reported in the Gazetto, back in the day the SPD went down major streets with bullhorns warning
residents to move cars in front of the plows. Tow trucks followed. The streets were plowed to the curb. The lack of leadership is shocking but hardly surprising. You wanted a stooge and you got one. Is it 2015 yet?

What makes you think that it will change in 2015?  The people have traded their liberty for government cheese.  The progressives won - game, set & match!

McCheesy is still waiting for his Direct TV to get the Weather Channel... he's clueless without his clicker.

And Benny, you're right. Tow the wrong car and he could lose a vote. Rather save a vote than clean up the roadways...

The thing is, even ALBANY has woken up to the fact that you have to get the cars off the streets, and they have a much larger ratio of cars to off street spaces, I'm sure! These are EXISTING laws in our city!
If you own an automobile, it is YOUR responsibilty to get it off the road! You don't own the street! Other communities understand this, what the hell is wrong with these "leaders" who can't even manage their own business!
They don't even have to hem and haw and debate! Just do it! No, they are too busy using tax dollars for projects that benefit a very select few, such as themselves!
On my street, there was one family that left an inoperable car out in the first big storm. This left half of the block, the responsible half, at risk due to the remaining wedge of snow and ice in the road. Not enough room in the driveway? They could have a) cleaned the $hi- out of their garage, and used it, or b) parked in the driveway of the abandoned house. I guess the car would have been harder to dig out of the driveway, so they left it in the street and made it nearly impossible for the nearest neighbors to access their own driveways. I am so sick of people who haven't got the slightest notion of responsibility expecting everything to be provided to them. We Schenectadians pay DEARLY for services, a Queen Cow mooching off of us wants to reserve the right to keep her neighbors from receiving what they pay for.
McCheese gets an F.

Does anyone know how much it costs to do the odd even parking and then there would be fewer places to park. The city does a good job plowing.

Nothing. It costs nothing to park on the other side of the street. The plowing is not good, it is very poor. What city official/relative/someone with a finger in the pie are you?

I got stuck in the middle of the road Thursday because the road was soo well plowed. It took twenty minutes and a very kind stranger to help dig me out and push. Some of the main roads were better than normal, but side streets and heavy residential streets are still only half plowed due to parking on the street.
