Once again, those who praise Kosiur and say he would be good REFSU to cite any specifics.

There should not be any school board members in other elected positions, nor should there be elected officials involved with Proctor's. This isn't a one-horse town, other people stepped up, no need to recycle the same loser in every position. They are trying to turn our once-proud city into the Dukes of Hazzard or something. Why do local officials even have party affiliations, anyway?
Some of the sitting elected officials need to step aside as they can't even get snow plowed. One of the main legit functions of municipal government.

Ed Kosiur is a great choice for EVERYONE.  He is a dedicate, public servant who has and will continue to work hard for the people.

I'm with you on this, he was on the city council before, and he has focus on the young in the city and remember that children are our future.

Ed Kosiur of 9 Nassau Ave. is seeking his first term on the Board of Education.

Ed and his wife Barbara have been residents of the City of Schenectady since 1989. Their three daughters all have attended Schenectady public schools.  His experience in the district as a parent (over 20 years in SCSD), PTO president, chair of the PTO council,  past employment at the Boys and Girls Clubs of Schenectady and currently with Schenectady County (as Assistant to the Commissioner of Social Services for Youth Development) gives him a good perspective to be a member of the Board of Education. Ed will continue the fight for “Our Fair Share” of NYS Aid for SCSD

I don't see where Ed was ever on the City Council before? Did I miss something?

What exactly did Ed do, that was noteworthy? What does "a focus on the young" mean? I can't think of a single accomplishment of his, personally.

What exactly have the nayboobs accomplished?  Absolutely nothing .. but whine and moan .. and prattle on and on about how they think they can do everyone else's job better.

Well DV, please respond and state HOW one (1) vote (by Riggi) on a given piece of legislation can become a law, an ordinance, etc  when 5 or 6 is a higher number.  And the 5 or 6 are political cronies.   I trust you remember how the corrupt council members held a council meeting and kept one of the council member out of the meeting, they kept Riggi out, and Riggi is the ONLY one who is NOT corrupt!

Not DV how about YOU state EXACTLY what the "non-nayboobs" have accomplished in the city????

What have they accomplished in regards to the city's tax base?
What have the accomplished in relation to tax BILLS?
What have the accomplished in relation to property values?
What have the accomplished in relation home sales and home sale prices?
What have the accomplished in relation in relation to essential necessary services to the residents and taxpayers?
What have the accomplished in relation in making sure that the leaders in the administration are paying the taxes that the taxpayers do?   (i.e., like Kilcullen, Olsen, etc rent or own a house IN the city and pay the taxes)

And a couple of the biggest and most notable accomplishments of McC, the former Stratton, and the dems on the council have been MASSIVE annual REDUCTIONS to the city's tax base, a drastic increase in tax foreclosures because the homeowners cannot afford to pay the taxes of the rich Galesi and the rest of the rich political cronies.

Let's see they have also succeeded in causing probably greatest percentage of vacant houses and residential untis in the whole 400+ years of the city's history!!!!!!

And remember, DV, many of us on these boards, including myself, have provided EVIDENCE to support those "accomplishments."

What so called "accomplishments" of The two Dem mayors and the dem council, can you cite that benefit the homeowners, their neighborhoods, their home values, and their tax bills?????     Answers????    Evidence (like posting images of actual records that support your statements?   Of course you can say downtown buildings have been redone and a handful of businesses opened but what effect does it have on residents tax BILLS, and then also, what businesses have opened that are NOT on the government dole?????

NO ANSWER

24 hours later

Sill no answer.  We ALL know that DV will NOT answer what the dems in the past decade have done - to provide a return to the homeowners, to benefit the residents of the city.

It's just worth pointing out that no answer has been nor will be provided by DV, because the EVIDENCE shows no accomplishments and he can't find a shred of evidence to contract it.

What have the "nayboobs" accomplished?   Whining?  NO WAY, but rather done research, found  FACTS, and the  EVIDENCE to support those facts, thus being able to state the truths.  Then pass along these truths.  Maybe 5 years ago, watching the council meetings I'd see the many of the people talking, complaining about taxes and I used to think "if they only knew."  Then maybe six months ago when I heard that Harry Brand reference how the leaders (McC, council, plex) were going to use the money (STOLEN) from the taxpayers to give to (the billionaire) Galesi to demolish a building he owns( for a project for which taxpayer money again will be used to help build him a tax exempt apartment building) and Harry asked commented that there must be kick backs, I knew we "nayboobs" have been getting the point across.  Actually some of it goes back a few years when Stratton was silent about giving himself a raise and thank God for Pat Z that year for all her work.

Getting this message out to the people is CRITICAL to the city IF the city is to EVER BEGIN to come back.

Let the DEMS run Lumpy again. And he sat on the City Council, County Legislature and now Board of Education {finished third for the one year seat Gazetto editors} all without distinction. A reliable vote for
double digit tax hikes and more Metrograft BS. The SCSD is over $10 million in the red and trying to pass another reorganization plan in late March. A job was created for Lumpy in the County by firing a CSEA
member in violation of Civil Service law. But who cares? Alliance/REPS are jumping for joy over this latest machine fumble. Even yellow dog DEMS are questioning this "decision".

Totally on point Benny!!

A proven track record of fiscal mismanagement. He votes not with his brain but for his fellow DEMS best interest.  And didn't his keeping students in school until they're 18 years old fail miserably?

Now the City attorney is stating that this seat HAS to be filled... what a load of cr*p. The DEMS are desperate... the City isn't happy with this blatantly back-handed appointment.
