Transfinder Receives Best Places to Work Award for 2013 Presented by the Albany Business Review

SCHENECTADY, NY (01/27/2014)(readMedia)-- Transfinder, a leading provider of transportation management solutions for more than 1,500 school districts in North America and the Caribbean, was named one of the Best Places to Work in the Capital Region for 2013 by the Albany Business Review.

Transfinder received the award for companies with 50 to 75 employees. It is Transfinder's first time making the list. Only 30 companies received the award this year, with more than 120 companies participating by submitting anonymous employee surveys. Quantum Workplace, an Omaha, Nebraska, research firm, compiled the results.

"This is a great honor to receive such an award as it can only be achieved by employees that recognize our company as a great place to work," said Antonio Civitella, Transfinder president and CEO. "We strive to create an environment where employees can be creative, collaborative, and productive. But we also make sure to reward our hard work by celebrating together our achievements. We hope to continue to attract great talent to our workplace and the Capital Region."

In becoming a Best Place to Work, employees recognized the company's frequent celebrations of employee birthdays and accomplishments and competitive salaries. Civitella surprised employees by giving the entire staff Dec. 23 off for surpassing revenue goals. Transfinder recently relocated to its new modern headquarters on State Street in Schenectady, not far from Proctors.

Companies receiving the annual award were honored at the annual luncheon Friday, December 6 at the Hilton Albany.

"Transfinder’s President Announces $4.2 Million Investment in State Street Building Renovation and Job Creation

High tech renovation of 440 State Street to create new corporate headquarters

Schenectady, NY – June 9, 2011 – Antonio Civitella, founder, president & CEO of Transfinder Corporation today announced at a press conference held at Proctors GE Theater that he is investing $4.2 million to renovate 440 State Street for the company’s new headquarters.  Located near Proctors and purchased from Proctors, the building will undergo a major transformation to enable the company to accommodate up to 125 high-tech employees.

According to Civitella, “This is another milestone for Transfinder as we continue our growth toward market leadership in our field.  The past three years have been remarkable for us as we experienced double-digit revenue growth, and expanded our organization from 32 employees to our current level of 54, with continuous growth expected in the next few years.  We grew at this rate to serve an expanding client base that now numbers more than 1,300 school districts in North America. While we looked far and wide for a new headquarters that could accommodate us, we did want to remain in the city and be a major contributor to the revitalization that is taking place here.  So we are delighted to make this announcement today.”

Ray Gillen, Commissioner of Economic Development for Schenectady County and Chair of Metroplex said, “Filling 440 State Street with a new corporate headquarters for Transfinder is a great win for Schenectady County.  This exciting new project will continue our efforts to bring new tech jobs and new investments to our community.”

Metroplex is providing a $210,000 grant toward building renovation costs.

Lesson here?

Since 2011 when the Plex handed over $210,000 in taxpayers money...Transfinders has had minimal job growth. There were 54 employees in 2011, and according to their website they have 60 now. The 'expect' to have 125 by 2015.

In three years, they grew by MAYBE 8 jobs...

For all the façade grants, building grants, relocation grants and complete school/property tax exemptions....this is a pathetic showing.

No, Tranies need money for their lifestyle...they need to be working.

Transfinders doesn't have the jobs...$210,000 taxpayer money for a 3 year / 8 job creation. AND the taxpayers keep their tax-evading business afloat.

One of the biggest Metroplex rip offs ever!

$210,000 grant from the Schenectady Metroplex Authority and a $150,000 state economic development grant

Thank you L4L... I was trying to find the TOTAL Metroplex had shelled out ('relocation' grants, façade, etc). But I highly doubt that anyone will ever know the total price to the taxpayers.

By the way, HOW CAN THIS $7 MILLION BUILDING STILL BE ASSESSED AT $725,000?!?!?!

Criminal.... just criminal.

And tell about how come you can't get a job there and make enough money to become self supporting, paying taxes, raisign and supporting a wife and kdis?

I don't about the company itself, other than the fact that I, as a taxpayer, am footing the bill for their county taxes - YOU, DV, are not paying a penny in property taxes, there is no property on any tax roll that has your name listed as the taxpayer

I have no problem with any businesses opening anywhere as long a they run there business and pay their taxes.  If customers don't like a product, they are free to complain or not shop at a business or use products or services.  But the business need to stand on their own two feet and not be operating on the backs of us who are taxpayers.  And for the good and the benefit of the city and the county, we must NOT have businesses that are political cronies in bed with the dem administrations of the government.

Optimists close their eyes and pretend problems are non existent.
Better to have open eyes, see the truths, acknowledge the negatives, and
speak up for the people rather than the politicos and their rich cronies.

Because they bought it for $600,000 from other bloodsucking non taxpaying corporate welfare thieves.

Just like the Schenectady Armory valued at $4.2 million.

Metroplex sold it to Legere for $260,000.

Fully tax exempt.

The downtown remodel has been over $100 million in giveaways and tax exemptions.
