Heart beat??? So someone who is clinically brain dead and if the family disconnects them from life support,
then they would be guilty of MURDER?

No, it would be cardiac arrest.

I don't think a fetus' heart beat is on artificial life support.  You are mixing apples and oranges and asking me a question at the same time.  I asked a pretty simple question.  If cardiac arrest is the death of a person, does that pertain to a fetus too?  Like say...stillbirth?

Oh...And what are your feelings about NYS issuing death certificates for stillbirths?  If the "person" never received a birth certificate, how does it received a death certificate?

Exactly!  Once someone is BORN then they are a citizen with a birth certificate and rights just like
every other American.
Before that... not so much.

My understanding of death based on medical science is cardiac arrest, or when the heart stops beating.

Quoted Text
In traditional Western medical practice, death was defined as the cessation of the body's circulatory and respiratory (blood pumping and breathing) functions. With the invention of machines that provide artificial circulation and respiration that definition has ceased to be practical and has been modified to include another category of death called brain death. People can now be kept alive using such machines even when their brains have effectively died and are no longer able to control their bodily functions. Moreover, in certain medical procedures, such as open-heart surgery, individuals do not breathe or pump blood on their own. Since it would be wrong to declare as dead all persons whose circulatory or respiratory systems are temporarily maintained by artificial means (a category that includes many patients undergoing surgery), the medical community has determined that an individual may be declared dead if brain death has occurred—that is, if the whole brain has ceased to function, or has entered what is sometimes called a persistent vegetative state. An individual whose brain stem (lower brain) has died is not able to maintain the vegetative functions of life, including respiration, circulation, and swallowing. According to the Uniform Determination of Death Act (§ 1, U.L.A. [1980]), from which most states have developed their brain death statutes, "An individual who has sustained either (1) irreversible cessation of circulatory and respiratory function, or (2) irreversible cessation of all functions of the entire brain, including the brain stem, is dead."

Brain death becomes a crucial issue in part because of the importance of organ transplants. A brain-dead person may have organs—a heart, a liver, and lungs, for example—that could save other people's lives. And for an individual to be an acceptable organ donor, he or she must be dead but still breathing and circulating blood. If a brain-dead person is maintained on artificial respiration until his or her heart fails, then these usable organs would perish. Thus, the medical category of brain death makes it possible to accomplish another goal: saving lives with organ transplants.

What about an individual that has been missing for 7+ years? There is no evidence that their heart has stopped or that they are clinically or medically "dead", but a death certificate can be issued.

JUST BECAUSE SISSY SAYS SO DOESN'T MAKE IT SO...BUT HE THINKS IT DOES!!!!!

Likely the same as a pregnant woman that has a miscarriage at home very early in the pregnancy.  The doctor has no physical proof of the death, but enough proof there is no life.

So being born dead is life in the eyes of the state?  So a partial birth abortion where a fetus is removed piece by piece is a citizen?

Maybe and then again maybe not. I tol you way back that therereally isn't a good definition scientifically aor otherwise  for when ' life ' starts. there hasn't  been one for a long time-

The definition of death is just as tricky

and the definition for human being ? forget about it

Is this too much for you to take ? according to you people are getting away with murder if they dont agree with your' science'.

Not murder, but in legal terms, justifiable homicide.  Sort of like self defense.

BTW...Science is pretty clear of what human life is.  Abortion is politics, not science.

abortion IS politics and Box only accepts the value of himself by what the government declares Box to be.....

that's a good soldier.....

but not having a uterus to be an incubator, I don't think Box has a hold on what abortion is....

again, like a good soldier following orders letting others think 'smarter' than himself.

...you are a product of your environment, your environment is a product of your priorities, your priorities are a product of you......

The replacement of morality and conscience with law produces a deadly paradox.

Science is clear when human life starts too.  Science doesn't argue "personhood".  Science doesn't have a magical moment when a fertilized egg turns into a person.  The Supreme Court lawyers determine that.

It certainly is not clear. It depends on what scientist you ask.

Sure your scientist says life starts "here".

Well  my scientist can beat up your scientist.

Please, cite your scientist that says a fertilized human egg is something other than a individual human life.

All science says that a fertilized egg is a zygote.  I'll take that definition.

See there ya go again Cicero.  Just when I think you are making progress... you have to jump in with one
of your "comments".
Your "I N D I V I D U A L", (meaning one of a kind) is not necessarily so.  Cell division at this zygote stage is where
twins are formed... meaning that YOUR INDIVIDUAL, is really Two or More individuals.
Kinda kills your whole theory huh!
