Not in McC's and the dem council's dictionary,  "Snow emergency"

The governor declares a snow emergency in the state.  He closes the Thruway

And look at the long list of places all around.  Even in Mechanicville with their tax hike, they are declaring a snow emergency. Of course their leaders do not steal from homeowner and give it out to millionaires and billionaires in a downtown.

you have that wrong

no rotterdam = turns to 'new city'

raise the bar
comprehensive planning

or

rotterdam = the hill

You're a very angry young lady. Did your parents not give you enough attention? I'm a democrat. I'm a veteran. I still participate in the U.S. Army Reserve. You'd be better off if you quit stereotyping,

Most people dread coming to Schenectady after a storm, its amazing the difference when you cross city lines, its like day and night when it comes to the roads

Everything mikechristine1 posted is a fact, what difference does it make if you are a veteran or in the reserves, what does that have to do with snow emergencies?

I too don't see what being a democrat or a vet has to do with this? Other than you come across as a troll.

My Dad is also a Veteran and a democrat, but he sure as hell can get upset at not getting services that he paid his taxes for.

So explain your need to attack Mikechristine1 who made an excellent point.

It's called an "ad hominem" argument. When you haven't a leg to stand on, you attack the speaker personally.
I get angry as well. I got plenty of attention growing up. I was also taught right from wrong, and I have a strong work ethic I got from my parents. I saw plenty of people out on a bitterly cold night, expending a lot of effort to keep the streets safe, which is very important to the general public, as we saw from that fire on Christmas. The streets need to be passable. A lot of the hard work on a bitter night was wasted effort, due to one man's stubborn refusal to DO HIS JOB, and get the cars off the street so the plows can plow to the curb. It matters. Since, as M/C pointed out, Schenectady is the glaring omission to that list of places that seem to know how to get the job done, it needs to be pointed out, again and again. Which of these municipalities pays the most for services not rendered? Where then, does our money go?
I know where it goes, and the pockets it goes into, for the most part, belong to individuals who don't even live here. They could not care less what happens in these neighborhoods, as they have never been anywhere but downtown, in Schenectady. Those of us in the neighborhoods are the blood donors, and when they are through bleeding us dry they will come for our organs as well.
I should hope M/C is angry, there is something wrong with people who aren't getting angry.

That's very well stated, Madam.

Almost was wondering if "Dave..." is a new imaginary friend of DV (joined about the same date as DV's last appearance).

Dave refers to me as a "young lady."   I could be the middle age (or latter middle age, or senior citizen) husband or wife.  Readers will not necessarily know.

If Dave is really in Omaha, instead of Still in Rotterdam where he (presumed) is from, wonder why he left?

Angry?  Gee, I don't even live in Schenectady!  But angry?  Yes, if more people were angry things might change.  We in this town (or any town in the county for that matter) should be angry about things in the city because some of the city is creeping into the towns.

But speaking in the interest of the taxpayers of the city, for paying such ungodly high taxes, they should have a snow emergency declared, but it won't happen.  The dems don't want complaints from people who get tickets and have their cars towed (even though the it would be the fault of the complainers who would have failed to heed instructions regarding parking).  Secondly the dems don't care about the neighborhoods where people live, where the taxpayers live, jut as long as the homeowners keep writing out those checks for the city to take in and hand out money ot the millionaires and billionaires.

Heard Paul this morning saying he's hoping to have a show broadcast from somewhere in Schenectady on a regular basis because Schenectady has issues that need to be addressed.  I don't think he means McC would host a show like Jennings did in Albany (McC would NEVER do that, he would NEVER want to talk to the taxpayers), but I think Paul meant setting up the equipment at some venue and having a regular host, I think he inferred like on a Saturday or Sunday show; he said he'd be talking to Vince Riggi about it.

I had the same thought myself, as to the identity of the poster. The condescending attitude toward females (young lady, I'm a veteran) suggests someone very insecure in his own manhood. Also, are we really supposed to believe that there is someone no longer living here who wants us to be happy about getting ripped off? There is only one non-city resident I can think of who spouts such nonsense. Actually, it could be McCheese himself though, couldn't it?
I just now got a report from a Saratoga County resident who came into the city today. He says the Schenectady roads are noticeably worse, and he lays a lot of blame on the fact that we have people snowblowing their driveways into the road, and shoveling as well. Someone should be driving around, looking for instances of this kind of lawbreaking, and issuing tickets. I really think that some people don't even know it is illegal. Of course, if there is nobody around to enforce any laws, everything is pretty much legal.
Schenectady, where you can get a ticket for overstaying at a meter downtown, but it "costs too much" to ticket the damn cars left in the road up here. I saw cars on Union Street yesterday afternoon, which appeared to have been left their overnight. All those spaces in the shopping area have time limits, even in good weather, I believe. So what's the problem?

I normally don't care who is who, but in this case, someone is pretending that as a random former resident, he feels a need to make a weird personal attack on someone he doesn't know at all. Posting anonymously is fine, but posting under different aliases on the same site is frowned on pretty much universally.
