NY Safe Act & Schenectady:

Ex-Offender Engagement Forums
Quoted Text
For the Ex-Offender Engagement ForumsFive communities hard hit by gun
violence - Albany, the Brownsville section of Brooklyn, the Bronx, Harlem and Schenectady
– have launched a nationally acclaimed re‐entry program, funded by New York State, in
which law enforcement, community leaders, and ex-offenders work with individuals who
have recently returned to their communities from prison to change their attitudes, thinking
and behavior.
Parolees recently released from prison attend monthly forums, at which police and prosecutors
stress to the parolees the consequences should they choose to pick up a gun, as well as,
the choices they have to make to ensure that they do not re‐offend. The forums also provide
parolees with community-based resources and access to social support services and programs
to help them find housing, employment, and assistance that will allow them to successfully
stay in their communities. The forums have proven successful at reducing gun violence and
helping ex-offenders lead productive, law-abiding lives.

I'm sure that if I asked a bunch of GunHuggers, they would all say they are resisting the law.
If I asked a bunch of criminals if they are resisting the law, they probably would agree too.

You are the person who expected a huge groundswell of support for Ron Paul when I first started posting
here.  Everyone you knew was supporting Paul.
To Quote Yogi Berra: "Deja Vu all over again! "

If you looked around most of the people here supported Ron Paul and yes most of the people I knew supported him

He was being sarcastic Joe, the government was arguing about having returning vets having to have a evaluation before owning a firearm, it didn't go to well for them.

I for one tend to avoid random Crazy... Ask most people about Ron Paul, and somewhere in your
response will be "crazy"!

If we judge the world by one small mostly conservative message board, we'd be badly informed.

Consider your view that "most people here support Ron Paul"... then think of how many votes
Paul has ever gotten in any national election.

Most people that I know when hearing about Ron Paul, sorta look down and walk away.  Why
deal with political extremism as if it were actually mainstream or normal?

When people like you don't pay attention I would assume that is what you would believe, when the truth is those who followed the campaign knows how the GOP cheated and changed the rules in order to get Paul away from the nomination. I posted the stories and proof here many times, some just wish to look away and act as if we have a elected government by the people, for them its easier to deal with then to face the hard truth.

PROOF???
Paul ran as a REPUBLICAN.  PAUL chose to do that... no one made him.  PAUL opted to run with
other REPUBLICANS, and if you are going to USE the REPUBLICAN PARTY, you had better be
prepared to play by their rules.

How did Paul do as a Libertarian??? His campaign was a joke.

Gary Johnson, from the Libertarian Party, received 1,139,562 votes which represents
0.9% of the popular vote, the most successful Libertarian Party candidate in the history of
the Libertarian party.

Is Ron Paul a LIBERTARIAN, or is Ron Paul a REPUBLICAN.

You make excuses for his failure to attract any real following other than the Ron Paul groupies.

Remember when George Worst Bush was running for President in NY State??? John McCain ran
against him but was kept off the NY ballot by Republican Party tactics... but you didn't hear
McCain crying after boo hoo... the GOP cheated!!!

Face it.  Ron Paul is a fringe candidate with no popular support in America.

Paul ran as a Republican because he was elected as one, that was his only way to get elected in the 2 party system we have today. And by the GOP rules do you mean the changing of the rules mid election? do you mean fake slates and removing elected delegates, like I said its easier to believe we have a elected government by the people, for you I guess its easier to face then dealing with reality.

Boo  Hoo   It's so UNFAIR that Ron Paul HAS to run as a filthy Republican.
Why does he HAVE TO RUN AS A REPUBLICAN???
Ask Bernie Sanders, a Socialist, who runs as an Independent and has won mayors elections,
congressional elections and US Senate elections as a SOCIALIST running as an Independent!

Now... tell me again why Ron Paul HAS to run as a REPUBLICAN???

A lone fish in a sea of sharks, lets see how he would fair in a presidential race, I wonder if he would be allowed in the debates, oh but we know the answer to that one don't we. The last 3rd party president we ever had was pre-civil war, something to think about before trying to say we don't have a 2 party system today.

When you are talking to people at the retirement home, of course they look down and walk away, Paul talks about taking away their cut in welfare(social security) and privatizing it.  Box, you have to talk to more Gen X, Gen Y, and millennials.

The geezers don't like Paul, not even the self proclaimed "conservative " geezer.  The small government geezer always wants to cut welfare, and cut big government spending.  But they don't want to give up their social security and Medicare, the two largest big government social programs.

If the Dems offered no good candidate then Bernie would do well in a presidential race.
I can almost guarantee he'd get more than the best Libertarian so far... Gary Johnson.
(Paul came no where near the total of Johnson's votes when Paul was a LIBERTARIAN,
not a REPUBLICAN! Ron Paul couldn't even get 1/2 % of the vote.)

I do have one friend who is 87, and many of the guys that I worked with are 'geezers' (60's), but many
are younger and some much younger.
I ski with my daughter and her friends, some in their 40's, some 30's and this week two in their
20's.
There is a group that I often see in winter on the sleds.  They are very mixed ages, from teens
to 70's.  We don't often talk politics but when we do I've never heard Ron/Rand Paul's name
mentioned... even once.
I live in a VERY Conservative Republican area... so it should be open to Ron Paul Propaganda, but
since I've lived here, the only mention of Ron Paul was a huge "RON PAUL" banner on a fence near
a busy highway that was visible for decades.  Some of the younger people asked who he was
and wondered if he was a local, state or national candidate.   Two in the group had never even
heard of him except for that banner.

Yes Ron Paul are very much like other REPUBLICANS who want to "privatize" social security.  George
Worst Bush comes to mind as the latest attempt to grab America's security for the elderly with his
push to (STEAL) privatize SS.

Just think of how many Americans would have absolutely no social security check, after paying into
the system for a lifetime, if G Worst Bush had put all their future savings into a the stock market
as the Bush Economic Meltdown occurred.

America's elderly can rest tonight knowing that the Republican Privatization SS Money Grab failed.
