To be a "CERTIFIED" Ophthalmologist you need to be Certified every 10 years. Rand WAS certified once, then when it came time to be recertified, he sorta fudged it! (Typical)

Rand initially did the right thing and became certified; but when his 10 years were up, he decided he’d had enough and chose not to recertify.
Rather, he organized his own certifying program for ophthalmology based right there in his hometown of Bowling Green. He then appointed himself president of the group, which he named the National Board of Ophthalmologists, and better yet, declared his wife (not a doctor) VP and his father-in-law secretary.
It remains unclear what the NBO criteria for certification are; the organization appears to have no website or easily located documents (though it is registered with the state of Kentucky as a nonprofit and claims to have certified a few hundred eye doctors

Rand Paul’s position on unemployment is “insulting” to American workers, Sen. Chuck Schumer said on Sunday afternoon after appearing with Paul on ABC’s“This Week.” On the Sunday morning show, Paul (R-Ky.) said that while he’s not against unemployment insurance as a concept, he said long-term benefits can eventually provide “some disincentive to work.”
Schumer and Sens. Jack Reed (D-R.I.), Jeanne Shaheen (D-N.H.) and Sherrod Brown (D-Ohio) told reporters they are optimistic they will be able to scrounge up five GOP senators to break a filibuster of their bill on Monday, which would offer three more months of unemployment benefits to the estimated 1.3 million Americans who were knocked off the benefit rolls in late December.

Following President Barack Obama’s State of the Union address to the nation on Tuesday, Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) declared that former President Bill Clinton had committed workplace “violence” in the 1990s when he had an affair with White House intern Monica Lewinsky.
In an interview on Sunday, Paul had said that Clinton was partially to blame for the so-called “war on women” because of his affair with Lewinsky. And the Kentucky Republican asserted that it would be difficult for voters not to also find Hillary Clinton responsible for her husband’s behavior.
By Tuesday, even conservative journalists were reminding the presidential hopeful that his version of events had “no resemblance to reality.”

In a Wednesday Washington Post column, Dana Milbank draws attention to the fact that a key name was missing from the class-action lawsuit filed by Paul: former Reagan Administration lawyer Bruce Fein, who had been working with the senator since December.
When lining up a Jan. 15 Fein draft with Wednesday's lawsuit, the Post found the documents to be almost entirely similar, along with the insertion of a new lead counsel: former Virginia Attorney General and gubernatorial candidate Ken Cuccinelli (R). According to the Post, Fein's camp was "aghast and shocked" over the change.
“Ken Cuccinelli stole the suit,” Fein's ex-wife and spokesperson, Maddie Fein, told the Post, throwing in that Paul, who “already has one plagiarism issue, now has a lawyer who just takes another lawyer’s work product.”
