Is that what happened Henry? Like asbestos or DDT or a hundred other chemicals that were used until they were found to be a hazard, then banned. I remember when the Mohawk River was full of chemicals, but (thanks to mostly Liberal forces) it's now relatively clean. It was the Conservative voices who, just like today, deny the science and resisted any change, no matter how hazardous, in the name of the almighty $$$.

Like asbestos Mirex and DDT, at one time AO was considered safe and was used in the USA and Vietnam, but today is banned.
Agent Orange and Agent Blue were extensively used in Vietnam AND IN THE UNITED STATES and in England. Although the 2,4,5-T molecule (AO) itself was non-toxic, the small quantities of DIOXIN impurities caused the chemical to be very toxic.
NOTE: If you lived by a power line or railroad tracks in the late 50's through early 70's you too were probably exposed to AO.

Paraquat, one of the most widely used herbicides in the world, was sprayed on marijuana plants in many countries to control the drug. Many growers would harvest their plants as soon as they were sprayed, and ship to the USA for sale.
Many a pot smoking burnout (A4Life?) got that way by smoking Paraquat laced weed!

Detroit is 83% African American.
