just see where a MAN on another website is mocking a woman who gets scared when men bother her for money at a bus stop downtown at night. Someone sent it to me, what do they want to do, give me a stroke? Unbelievable. These "it can happen anywhere" people, when you are talking about crimes against PEOPLE, what is wrong with them? Someone's bad experience invites not sympathy, but scorn and derision? Why?
Somebody leaves an iphone in an unlocked car and it is taken, THAT happens anywhere. Getting hassled while waiting for a bus at night, no, it only happens where there are women standing at a bus stop at night.
BTW, we knew of a young woman who sometimes was working alone downtown after dark, and we arranged to have her call us instead when she would otherwise be getting a bus, because we did not want her to go through the kind of extremely unpleasant, if not frightening, experience of standing out on a corner at a late hour.

it can happen anywhere....the stigma is the fact that most of these folks who work in the service industry...
BECAUSE THERE ISN'T ANY OTHER KIND OF WORK AROUND....that they are treated like servants....a waitress making waitstaff
wage and tips(granted sometimes good tips) doesn't come close to a male working as a city garbage man....and those who
employ these serfs really don't give a sh*t and nor should they...because the cast is set....

the problem lies in the set up we have made.....when the government decides who is rich and who is poor it makes casts...and
chronic systems without light....

schenectady wants to be a service city to entertain the 'wealthy' but on shoestring budget....yes, it attracts those who will
even lick up the crumbs off the sidewalk....if a metroplex-whore can pay a servant the lowest wage possible, that's OK because
the tax payers are filling their fridge, heating their homes, and paying their rent and paying their daycare etc etc etc.......

corporate welfare breeds human welfare....all in the name of the STATUS QUO....and every politician and policy maker want to
make sure that red line is under their control......
