Well guess it isn't going to happen so here goes.

Many months ago heard a woman at the city council meeting talking about the citizens police review board and how they were short of members, could not have meetings as not enough in attendance.

I was interested in being on this board.

Wrote to council and mayor, only heard back from two council members.

Waited a month or so again emailed all and finally Brucker emailed back (as she is in "charge" of this) She said I would have to be vetted and send in
my
resume.

Send in my resume a couple months ago and why I felt I would be an asset to the board. NO response back.

Watched the council meeting about a month ago and again Helga the woman from the board tells the council they still do not have enough members to
have meetings and can they approve people for this board.

So here I am, a resident willing to volunteer to be on the board, willing to attend the classes and meetings etc. and Brucker and the mayor totally ignore
me.

I know they do a backround check and I have no record.

I have complied with the request for the resume.

So here I sit wondering why I am totally ignored.

Brucker has no business talking at all about this stuff, she is fleeing the city.

But of course, she wouldn't announce her resignation before the time that would have provided for a replacement to be elected by the people, no, the dems and their corruption, another appointed council person.

I will almost bet that if Marion loses in November, she will be appointed to Brucker's seat.
Ditto Erickson.
Ditto Mootoowhatever.

Also, you're not a mindless sheep RP. You're an involved, smart and proactive member of the community. You're vote cannot be bought and you have more intelligence than 3/4 of the entire City Council.

They don't want you because they are afraid of you. You might make a difference.

Good for you for getting involved, we need more people like you to change this City and it can happen!!

Agreed they want a rubber stamper in that position, they will get someone they know personally who they know won't question anything in there.

This sounds like something to speak at privilege of the floor at a council meeting.  They should not shush you either.

It may not necessarily get you on the board, but the fact that the dems ignore their constituents, fail to respond to them, needs to be made known.  Perhaps include include a sentence that says "Apparently the fact that I'm a long time taxpayer and resident in the city means I am unworthy to even be acknowledged, I'm sorry I'm not a rich tax exempt member of the ruling party's friends and family club."

Do I imagine a standing ovation?  Hell yeah, or at last much applause.

People in the city need to start standing up and demanding that the mayor and the dems start paying attention to them.  This is when silence is NOT golden

I think they like to put "community leader" and political hack types on these boards to get themselves name recognition for future runs for office or perhaps jobs on the NFP gravy train.

I thought this thread was abt the violent gang rape that happened Sat night downtown when I saw the title

"While Foreign Terrorists were plotting to murder and maim using homemade bombs in Boston, Democrap officials in Washington DC, Albany and here were busy watching ME and other law abiding American Citizens who are gun owners and taxpayers, in an effort to blame the nation's lack of security on US so that they could have a political scapegoat."
