Cicero has family issues with a veteran that seems to be stoking this entire thread.
I don't have a family issue with veterans. It's your narcissism that prevents you from understanding that veterans are just people, not some kind of worldly gods that must worshipped because they were willing to be dropped off into a jungle or desert ten thousand miles away to kill and maim people.
It's funny, my grandfather was in WWII, and never once did I hear him talk about his service in a proud manner, he didn't want special recognition for his service, he didn't drive around with a license plate or bumper stickers advertising his service for all to see. It was a much more humble generation.
The narcissistic boomer generation soldier needs to wear their service on their chest. Get over yourselves.
Enlisted military are "special" people. Like those that rode the little bus to school kind of "special".
"Special" is YOUR WORD Cicero. Not ours. YOU are the one claiming that Vets are "SPECIAL".

Currently there are 31 states plus Puerto Rico that provide the veterans designation on their drivers license, and another 6 that have passed legislation but have not yet implemented the designation program.
This drives Cicero and the 'haters' nuts!

It doesn't drive me nuts...I laugh!! Just proof that military service isn't for sacrifice or honor, or the other jingoism's. It's to be recognized as special, to be treated differently, to have beer commercials made about how wonderful you are.
Ask your dad if he's "special" Cissy. Maybe he can explain it to you.

He pulls that "once a marine always a marine" crap when he meets another marine. He doesn't have a vanity license plates with the marine insignia or POW-MIA bumper stickers. He's not like a lot of those guys that wear the baseball caps with the huge American flag patches, or t-shirts with the branch they worked for, and the military stickers in the back window of their pickup truck.

Good. He sounds a lot like me. So do you think that he's "SPECIAL"?

I wouldn't say he sounds like you. He didn't "serve" out of duty, honor, or patriotism. My understanding is that during his teenaged years he was a bit of a hell raiser. And when he was 17, he was brought before a judge and given 2 options. One if which was to enlist in the military on his 18th birthday. It was the best option of the two given. So he took it. He served the minimum obligation and got out - alive.
Besides the fraternity he shares with fellow marines, I definitely would not say his service was for love of country. Actually, his country coerced a 17 year old into accepting a possible death sentence. Yay for America!
Special plates are normal for many of our veterans, they also get the privilege of getting the best parking around. God bless our veterans, you guys earned this special plate with the sacrifices you made.
Also included is a nice sticker to hang from their rear view mirror, display it proudly to show everyone that you served in the military for our great country
And don't think the country forgot about your sacrifice. Stores, restaurants, businesses all across the country are now refitting their places to show they welcome your business and appreciate your service. Veterans just look for this sign and that will show you that you are welcome.
And I ask everyone here when you see someone who looks like this walk up to them and shake their hand if they still have one and thank them for saving our country from the Vietcong or whatever enemies that were about to invade our country and kill us all.
GOD BLESS AMERICA

to Cissyboy's Father SEMPER FI and Thank You For Your Service!
Henry, you are right. It is unfortuante that many now have disabilities. Those of us that served recognize them amd salute them with honor. They do deserve special treatment, and they do deserve to be recognized and I would hope people would stop to say thanks to them....I do!
JUST BECAUSE SISSY SAYS SO DOESN'T MAKE IT SO...BUT HE THINKS IT DOES!!!!! JUST BECAUSE MC1 SAYS SO DOESN'T MAKE IT SO!!!!!

Many who have handicapped plates are veterans but I would guess that most are not. Many veterans who do have "special" handicapped plates are veterans but their disability has nothing to do with their service.
But Henry already knows that.

Why do Henry and Cicero hate veterans so? What is it about their lives that puts them so far out of the norm from the vast majority of Americans??? Why the hate? Why the ridicule?
Anti Govt in their mind seems to mean anti Military, anti Police, anti everything associated with the USA. I wonder if they despise their mailman, or air traffic controllers too?
You can be anti war with out being anti military, but with Cicero and Henry, they seem to hate the veteran much more than they hate the actual war.

Why do you think I hate them, I am simply showing the great benefits you can get from joining our military. You said you want custom license plates and I'm already telling you they had them, this is what you wanted box so why are you mad now?

So confusing watching the 'haters' on this thread.
First Cicero posts that I made a statement that I never made, then he ran from it... now Henry posts: "You said you want custom license plates" and I never posted that!
The two of them seem to be in some kind of mental meltdown.
Since Cicero failed to back up his claim... I'm wondering if Henry will do the same. Just where did I post that "I wanted custom license plates" Henry?
