Who "lied" and who "hid vital information from the public"?
This stems from the June incident where the Dad and his daughter were assaulted at the Bow Tie cinema by a gang of 15 teens.
I would think that the Gazette and many local tv stations would jump right on that story! It's a heinous crime, definitely not the norm and only when the kids were in front of a judge did the general public know about it.

Sounds like a bad 1950's movie set in a small town in Alabama, or one of those places you despise for their backwardness. I like clean, open government and a free, unbiased press myself.

So you think that there is collusion between the Gazette and City govt? Any Proof? There is circumstantial evidence but it could just a likely be that the Gazette has cut back and has no interest in putting their resources into reporting crimes in the city.
Would posting about the Gazette be as hostile if Republicans ruled the city???

Ironically, the Gazetto was the first to report this four months later. Yeah, the Gazetto (who couldn't get a front page story if it was handed to them) writes the article praising the police dept on this minor incident. THEN the Gazette writes an editorial about how this victim provoked the gang of teens when he snapped his fingers (that sounds more like their immature daily writing).
It was definitely a cover-up. Gillen knew the day after the incident (but this ding dong didn't know 200 GE jobs were leaving the City?!?!) and SOMEONE wanted to keep it hush hush and for four months.
It's worse when you cover it up, even worse when you blame the victim, even worse when you knew about it the next day and ultimately you just decreased the City's reputation irrevocably.

Perhaps because in Florida, once people got past the irresponsible reporting and looked at the facts, a man who was merely walking around his own neighborhood was found not guilty of murder.

Ummmm...the definition of collusion is SECRET agreements or understanding. Are you waiting for the Gazette to print a story about the government conducting and investigation about the government colluding with them?
from what have heard in the donnut shop....know someone and you can do anything...even stop a story.....but you can't stop crime....
it has to be reported.....we see who owes in taxes....foreclosures, etc....why not ALL crime....doesn't matter how small......reporting is how it should
be done....but if it sells papers.....welll......that's a different story...like the Grandma who muredered her grandson....all details available...
but what happens downtown in a theater.....well, no big deal.......how these people think is beyond all .......
plea deals are made everyday....and not always in the best interest of the victim/s...perps have more rights......
