Love watching veterans that were sold the lie that they were fighting for "Freedom" get arrested at the memorial recognizing those that "sacrificed" keeping us "free". Ohhhhh...The Irony!

Irony indeed, seemed this vet and others had to learn the hard way about what their sacrifices really gave us and it sure as hell wasn't about keeping us free. I give him and the other vets credit though here, they had the balls to get themselves arrested to make a point and draw attention to how fcked up this country is. I wonder what those cops are thinking as they put those elderly people in handcuffs, probably repeating in their heads "this is my job, laws the law, this is my job".

. Speaker John Boehner (Ohio), who leads the Republican majority in the House, holds a net approval rating of negative 17 percent,
LMAO! Cicero is bragging about an approval rating of -17%!

A new Greenberg Quinlan Rosner Research survey that that by a 16-point margin, 43% to 27%, voters blame the Republican in Congress, rather than President Obama and the Democrats, for the government shutdown.
On the generic congressional ballot, Democrats now lead by double digits, 46% to 36%.

Shutting Down DC? Remember that Right Winger TeaBag Truckers Rally on DC that was supposed to shut down the city with a ring of trucks???
Um... The 'hundreds' of trucks turned out to be "30 commercial vehicles and 15 pickup trucks" according to the VA state police.
A photo showing heavy traffic on a two-lane stretch of interstate purported to be from the protest was circulated dozens of times on Twitter, drawing additional comments of support, but the image was actually taken in May during a Make-A-Wish truck convoy in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. (figures)

GOP pollster Bill McInturff: A 'Significant and Consequential' Poll
GOP pollster Bill McInturff writes clients on this week's NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll: "Overall, this is among the handful of surveys that stand out in my career as being significant and consequential, so, I wanted to make sure you had an opportunity to review the survey."
"I would also say this about my general experience with this type of data - 9/11, Hurricane Katrina, Lehman collapse, debt ceiling in 2011 - once there is this level of movement and change, it takes months for things to settle down in a way that is stable and easier to understand. This type of data creates ripples that will take a long time to resolve and there will be unexpected changes we cannot predict at the moment as a consequence."

the GOP image is a reflection of the general populace's desire to have their feelings met instead of the actual realities without the fluff...the DEMS are just dressing up their red herring/strawman better, for now.....
Quoted Text
I use the casual phrase casually; for I do not concern myself with the gentleman but with the citizen. Nevertheless, there is this historic half-truth in the case for aristocracy; that it is sometimes a little easier for the aristocrat, at his best, to have this last touch of culture which is a superiority to culture. Nevertheless, the truth of which I speak has nothing to do with any special culture of any special class. It has belonged to any number of peasants, especially when they were poets; it is this which gives a sort of natural distinction to Robert Burns and the peasant poets of Scotland. The power which produces it more effectively than any blood or breed is religion; for religion may be defined as that which puts the first things first. Robert Burns was justifiably impatient with the religion he inherited from Scottish Calvinism; but he owed something to his inheritance. His instinctive consideration of men as men came from an ancestry which still cared more for religion than education. The moment men begin to care more for education than for religion they begin to care more for ambition than for education. It is no longer a world in which the souls of all are equal before heaven, but a world in which the mind of each is bent on achieving unequal advantage over the other. There begins to be a mere vanity in being educated whether it be self-educated or merely state-educated. Education ought to be a searchlight given to a man to explore everything, but very specially the things most distant from himself. Education tends to be a spotlight; which is centered entirely on himself. Some improvement may be made by turning equally vivid and perhaps vulgar spotlights upon a large number of other people as well. But the only final cure is to turn off the limelight and let him realize the stars.

The replacement of morality and conscience with law produces a deadly paradox.
STOP BEING GOOD DEMOCRATS---STOP BEING GOOD REPUBLICANS--START BEING GOOD AMERICANS
Government spending has long been believed to have a multiplier effect in the economy. However, as the chart above shows, the reality is quite shocking. Each dollar in debt only increased GDP by roughly $0.15. In other words each $1 in government spending actually has a negative multiplier effect of 85% in the real economy.
