Ghosts is the third straight bomb at taxpayer financed Proctor's. Schenectady is no place for road shows or acid circuses. Maybe if Proctor's had actual marketers and not fossil politicians they could fill
the theatre-no? You pay. They scream renaissance, unplug the popcorn machine and flush money on a marque.

      Let's call Erie what it is-Crony capitalism. Taking care of a chum-screw the business owners who begged this not to happen. Because there is no new retail-County sales tax revenue keeps diving-
Proctor's is the only game Downtown. The new schedule except for Chicago looks dismal. Look at the explosion of retail along the Route 30 corridor in Amsterdam. While these incompetent self described
"planners" can't bring in a Mikey D's nor Dunkin Donuts to Downtown.

At 8:30am on Friday, the best seats available are on the side, 5 rows from the back of the theater.
That sounds like a success to me.

I don't want my neighbors to have their homes taken away to pay for that GD thing! It is as simple as that. I know of a young couple who bought a beautiful older home here, several years back, they worked so hard and sunk so much money into bringing it back into good condition, they couldn't afford a house already in nice shape, these jackasses came along and reassessed them so high they can never, never, afford to go to Proctor's. They can't go and stand in line for a subsidy down at DSS either. Even if they wanted to, they can't sell their house, nobody wants to buy a house so far assessed over its value. How is putting new lights on Erie Boulevard helping them?

Actually NO, you CAN be a couple and get seats 9 from the back.   Actually, a 50 yr old boy can sit cuddled between two mommies 9 rows from the back.


But you CAN get first row seats.   You CAN be a couple and one sits in the FIRST ROW and one right behind in the 2nd row.


So, as of 12:30 this afternoon, for tonight's show, there ARE 1st row seats still available!   In fact, 1st row, 2nd row, 3rd row, etc.

That's King Philip's success.    


He needs taxpayer handouts to make up the loss.  What will be in next year's county budget to Proctors?

Proctor's is a not-for-profit, so it has no losses, or profits, either. The people working there do not have their salaries set with any relationship at all to any performance measures.
I heard they are having problems keeping the whole thing afloat, even with the handouts. Maybe they need to take pay cuts.
