In order to sell the building.

The Price Chopper community room on Eastern Ave is up for sale.

The news report has this quip in it.

Quoted Text

"We're hoping the building sells," Golub said

The building at 1643 Eastern.....is on a busy street, but some nearby commercial buildings are shuttered and  have been vacant for years.

They are asking $449,000, the McCheese and his dem cronies claim it would sell for $740,000.

How many years do you think it will take to sell?   Maybe with a taxpayer handout via Metroplex a Polish food restaurant could open there ROFL.

i had to take a co-worker down to the motor vehicle in SCUMnectady the other day!!!

Not only are buildings shuttered....it is like a feakin' war zone!! you honestly are taking you life in your hands just driving thru the disgusting city!!!

next time i'd opt for the dmv in clifton park!

i honestly don't know who would ever buy golubs community center....or what would even go there that would succeed.

Family Dollar does okay there. That's an awfully high asking price. If it were downtown, someone would pay the price and then ask for gubmint money to fix it up.

What about Brooke's and sons? That's right there. We've gotten our taxes done there for years and love them.

$449,000 I heard, but they must of put two extra zeros on by mistake

"While Foreign Terrorists were plotting to murder and maim using homemade bombs in Boston, Democrap officials in Washington DC, Albany and here were busy watching ME and other law abiding American Citizens who are gun owners and taxpayers, in an effort to blame the nation's lack of security on US so that they could have a political scapegoat."

Evidently the rent from the two businesses in that building isn't enough to cover the taxes and upkeep? The building on the Price Chopper property is for sale now too, the one that had the ghetto furniture rent-to-own business. I thought that the Fireside building got sold, for a very low price, but I see no activity there.
Maybe Golub just wants to minimize his liability now that he's in a very serious supermarket war.
Since that tax place is a legitimate, useful small business, if by chance that building does sell and somebody wants to take over that space, the city might send over one of their "planner/developer" wizards to hold the door so it doesn't hit them in the butt on the way out.

Yes, the Fireside building DID get sold.   Sold December 2011 for the grant wonderful price of $1,000.   YES, just ONE thousand dollars.

Cheer cheer.  The mayor and his dem team are doing a wonderful job in the city. Gee wasn't there a poster who said that a few months back?

Maybe whoever bought it will get a grant from the city to knock it down. We don't have enough rubble strewn parking lots. The rubble strewn parking lot where Brandywine school used to be, now there are barricades to prevent the locals from parking there. What's up with that? The fewer cars on the street over there, the better, I would think.

Golub headquarters on Nott St is not owned by Golub.

Golub rents it from Lord Galesi.
