If there were a gang of up to eight men, stealing cars at gunpoint, in my neighborhood, I would like to know as much as possible about it, wouldn't you?

peeps...drug deal gone bad....got the money and car....and off to NYC to buy more drugs....

police need to tell public ....but, "investigation" still ongoing....this is just my take on it..

no neighborhood is safe....be vigilent...be your own police and newsperson....if you see something report it....to your neighborhood....

guess taking care of each other is a priority...

Okay, the location the 'crime' occurred was not pinpointed because the 'victim' does not no where he was, other than State Street, Schenectady. I'm sure   that the police made a note of how initial contact was made with this guy, did he phone this story in or something? It might be nice, if someone in the news business would clue us in. Just a teeny hint. If there were a gang of up to eight men, stealing cars at gunpoint, in my neighborhood, I would like to know as much as possible about it, wouldn't you?

buy a add in the paper that runs weekly with the proceeds marked for accurate local news  - similar to WAMC

If it was a fake story, it will make the news.

Otherwise, the story will just fade away, it will be forgotten.  I'll bet that if it was real and the car is foumd, that find will not be reported in the news.

Just more EVIDENCE to prove that the mayor and his cronies do not want people to know the realities of Schenectady, which is why I'm thinking that if the story is legit that it happened downtown.  Don't want to scare people away from the tax exempt for profit businesses (including Proctors which IS a for-profit just like ANY OTHER big theater, it is NOT a theater of volunteers like the local SLOC and Civil Players is)

"While Foreign Terrorists were plotting to murder and maim using homemade bombs in Boston, Democrap officials in Washington DC, Albany and here were busy watching ME and other law abiding American Citizens who are gun owners and taxpayers, in an effort to blame the nation's lack of security on US so that they could have a political scapegoat."

It looks to me like this guy came up with an armed robbery story to get his complaint bumped up the list when police had enough to do with somebody entering people's homes while they were sleeping and feuds turning deadly in residential backyards.
The car was parked and they arrested the driver? WRGB was reporting the car was stolen while the guy was at a house. So was the car right where he left it, in front of the house he went to to buy drugs at five a.m?
I wouldn't care except it's another instance of some outsider coming here and adding to our problems. The police should charge a $700.00 fee for servicesrendered to offset the cost to the taxpayer.

Depending on what source, the reports do seem confusing.   Must be the city reports one thing to one news source, says something to another, etc jut to avoid telling the residents the truth.

One week later and the mayor refuses to inform the residents where this robbery happened.

Vehicle found, big deal.

5 in the morning, there are already people leaving for work at that hour, buses are already running along State St.

Why is the mayor refusing to inform the residents and taxpayers about WHERE this happened?

Why don't they just TELL US what happened? The police made an arrest, for drugs? Just for drugs, when the guy was allegedly driving a stolen vehicle? The vehicle that was found parked, but this guy was the 'driver'? What about the other seven violent men?
I know there is likely an ongoing investigation, but this isn't high level sensitive stuff. A news blackout on crime doesn't do anyone any good. In fact, if I were trying to sell or buy or rent property anywhere near the State/McClellan area, it would really matter a lot to me whether this guy got ripped off in a drug deal or whether strangers robbed him of his car at gunpoint.
