SCHENECTADY, N.Y. -  There was an early morning robbery on State Street on Sunday.

Schenectady Police say a robbery took place around 5AM Sunday.  The 32-year old victim told authorities that a group of about eight black males, one with a handgun, robbed him.  

Juan Sanchez says the men took $700 in cash and keys to his car.

At least one suspect took off in the vehicle.

The vehicle is described as a blue 2005 Chrysler Pacifica with a NY license plate FLH-5662.  Police are still searching for the vehicle.

The victim was not injured.

There are no descriptions of the suspects.

If anyone has any information they are encouraged to contact Schenectady police.

If anyone has any information, such as where the hell did this take place, please contact someone in the news business. State Street is a pretty big area.
YNN is reporting that the victim was from Cohoes. Something tells me that he wasn't just getting out of work when this happened. McCheese is right, Metroplex has created lots of business in Schenectady. Where else is someone looking to spend 700 bucks at five in the morning?

Yeah, it could have ben his rent money, but he lives in Cohoes. Maybe his landlord likes to be paid in cash, first thing in the morning, in Schenectady. There article does not give an address, I just assumed he was out in the street. Maybe he was meeting his landlord at the Blue Ribbon for coffee.
I'm still wanting to know just where this happened. Police always note the location. Is it just journalistic laziness or is the location someplace we want to downplay for some reason?
Why do people call print media yesterday's news? You won't get the complete story online until tomorrow, if ever.

Probably happened downtown and that is why the hush hush about the location.

Juan Sanchez, 32, told police he did not know the exact location where he was approached by eight males, including one armed with a
gun, who robbed him of about $700. The suspects also ordered Sanchez to turn over his car keys and one of the men drove off with his 2005 Chrysler Pacifica which was parked at the curb, said Lt. Mark McCracken.

There were no injuries and police are looking for the SUV, bearing NY registration FJH-5662. There is no description available on the
suspects, police said.

Very possibly downtown because the mayor and police chief of course would not want such an incident reported with the word "downtown" in it.  You know, the dems keep hush hush about such things downtown.



Now I can understand that a guy from Cohoes, as he is identified, might not know where he was in Schenectady.  But he contacted the police.   Did he walk to the station?   Did he call them on a cell phone and if so, how did they know where to respond to him, he'd have to identify where he was.  I mean can you hear it?

9-1-1 Dispatch:  "I need even a cross street to send the police, or can you state what businesses you see near by...."

Okay, the location the 'crime' occurred was not pinpointed because the 'victim' does not no where he was, other than State Street, Schenectady. I'm sure   that the police made a note of how initial contact was made with this guy, did he phone this story in or something? It might be nice, if someone in the news business would clue us in. Just a teeny hint. If there were a gang of up to eight men, stealing cars at gunpoint, in my neighborhood, I would like to know as much as possible about it, wouldn't you?
