Everyone needs to just put the politics aside and look at the services being offered. Can Mohawk really provide a better service to the town??? Yesterday there was a motorcycle vs car on 890 and Mohawk did not have a single ambulance in Schenectady or Glennville that was available to respond. REMS once again bailed out Mohawk. Without REMS that patient would have waited 15+ minutes for an ambulance from Niskyuna or Guilderland. Do you people really want to trust Mohawk with your life?

Really aamzed at how this corruption can still be going on.....impeach and get rid of these people...

just because they got the votes doesn't mean they can go about like they are a super power..

and just because they led the law...doesn't mean they can lay down a corrupt way of running the town.

it amazes me at what has happened to this town in the last 10 years....

Rotterdam residents don't know the right from the left.....they believe everything they hear....and see...

and underneath it all???.....REGIME is getting away with it in the open ....

REMS never dropped a call?  If RPD didn't get rid of the Paramedics, they would have been there in 5 minutes.  But they decided to eliminate paramedics in return for pay raises.

Putting politics aside (if ya can even take politics out of this mess).....Aren't there attorneys handling this?

And again......where is the als $$$$ ? Wasn't that contractual?

And as far as rems bailing out Mohawk....kinda like how Mohawk has bailed out rems...how many times?.....if Mohawk had the contract they would have already incorporated the rems staff and ambulances. So the end result would have been the same. Only difference is that the ambulance would be green and white and had the name MOHAWK on it....k?

Your pretty ignorant if you really believe Mohawk was going to incorporate REMS staff and ambulances. You must be brainwashed by our wonderful town government. Mohawk wasn't going to magically dump money into buying new ambulances to place in Rotterdam. They fed the same line of crap to Glennvile years ago and the day Mohawk took over they only had 1 ambulance for the whole town and the minute Schenectady got busy that 1 ambulance was gone to the city.

If it's 'contractual' then they HAVE to!!!

You people are too gullible. A) The contract (if it was with Mohawk) would be between family members (Calder and his son in-law). B) The contract would be between a corrupt town government and a business looking solely for money. C) There are ways around the contract (Just like in Glennville; they say the ambulance is for the town but as soon as the city dumps its 3 ambulances on a call there goes the town ambulance to the city). And I 100% agree that REMS has had their set backs and they do from time to time run out of ambulances. That's why it is so critical to have multiple agencies available. It's called mutual aid and without it you would constantly see fire, police, and ems calls have severe time delays in being answered. Every single emergency service agency in the county relies on the others for help at some time or another.

I asked the question back on March 15th why there was no contract. It's going on four months and no contract. How long does it take? Villano fought to get the contract for REMS and states that he meets with REMS regularly but never mentioned the contract wasn't signed at a meeting. Did he not want the public to know? Has he been working with REMS to get the contract signed? Where is he now?

Don't be so gullible. if history repeats itself...and it always does...it will STILL be a corrupt town government and a so called 'business' looking solely for money if it's rems. Just check with the ST administration...k?

DON'T BE SO GULLIBLE.

And if memory serves me......Mohawk was a contender long before WC.

And i'm glad that you do admit that rems has and does have it's issues!!! And more than running out of ambulances.

again.............where is the als $$$$$ ????????????????????????

no but magically REMS received taxpayer subsidy....and with ACA now it won't matter...consolidation and fees
across the board....that's AFTER the taxpayers get extorted by this dog and pony show,,,,you can't tell me that
rotterdam doesn't need the state $$ reward for consolidation...or is more about the familia getting their 'fair share' from
the taxpayers hides?

the line of crap is between the lines

the ACA will render this all moot....and in the mean time the extortion will continue.....

GPS
CENTRAL DISPATCH
COMPUTERS ON BOARD

all that is required is a godfather of the ambulance....that's AFTER palms are greased and taxes/fees raised

Obviously the need money. The great town officials we have made REMS scrape by at the end of last year. Mohawk got the majority of the calls last fall while REMS still paid it's employees to serve the people. But REMS also is dedicated to the towns citizens unlike Mohawk. Mohawk is just trying to put their name in another part of the capital region.

I'm not getting personal with REMS however, being dedicated to the towns citizens wasn't in question, much like GE
was dedicated to Schenectady back in the day.

again, this isn't personally directed to the workers of REMS.....

this IS about the consolidation $$ carrot and everyone getting their 'fair share' from the taxpayers...ACA will affect this
in the long run...everyone is just lining up their bishops for the big game move.

This issue will go on and on...until the REGIME gets what they want.......yes there are issues everywhere......but REMS does and upstanding job

nothing is perfect ....and life also.....so eat the crow REGIME>.....they are so perfect....perfect in their greed and corruption....

REMS stays in Rotterdam.....not Mohawk.....

this is a dead issue.....REMS REMS   REMS   REMS   REMS

were anyone of you ever on the ambulance squad when it was strictly volunteer???....have anyone of you given up your week-ends to wait for a call and that

is when there also was mutual aid......the ambulance service (unpaid volunteers) managed to get the job done.....so stop about this issue of time

to get to site......that has not changed.........
