The town eliminated 3 full time and 14 part time paramedics.  How do two dedicated ambulances replace that loss at the same level of service?  It may not be a cost to the residents monetarily, but I have a hard time believing it will maintain the same service levels.

And I hate to keep harping on it, Mohawk may be at no monetary cost to the residents, but it's of no savings either.  The savings is getting sucked up by that crooked, overpaid police department.

The two dedicated ambulances are two that remain in the Town, with additional units available as needed.....neither REMS nor the paramedics could do that.
If the coverage is now truly complete, with the same certified personnel as REMS and the paramedics, it seems that the level of service could only increase.

REMS and the paramedics were of no savings either.....the difference is that REMS and the paramedics were in fact costing money...and Mohawk is not
responsible for the redistribution of savings.

There still are no savings.  I'm not seeing a savings...are you seeing a savings?  The budget proposed shows an increase in taxes...What am I getting ?  I know I'm losing the 17 town paramedics and getting Mohawk in return(which if the privately contracted service can replace that level of paramedics, I would be fine, I just doubt it).

I just hate when I hear that "it's a savings to the town".  The savings is on a line in the budget.  It isn't a savings to me or most anybody else.  You or I won't see a penny of that savings returned to us.  But some will.

ALL "savings" gets redistributed to the friends and famiglia!

Hamilton get a piece, his higher-ups get a piece, the dems in town hall get a piece

senior str typist, cook at the Brass Rail, cleaner at the senior ctr, etc

Of course now it will be cleaner and the food will be better since we are spending more

I'm not saying it is saving money....there is no savings if the money is simply spent on something else. All but two of the paramedics are part time and
those have not been enough to maintain constant coverage....I don't know if collectively they just aren't available enough hours or what....but if they
can't consistently provide 24/7 coverage....what difference does it make how many there are, or were? Isn't the result the same, regardless of how many
of them could not cover....certain time frames with no paramedics available? That seems risky to me.

And you're right....the non-existent "savings" will only find its way into certain pockets....not to be well spent as those same funds to instead save
the paramedic unit.

Sooooooooooooo....after reading all of these posts..........the end result is.....

first....nobody will not be bleeding to death in the streets...no big change/savings
second.....ROTTENdam administration got rid of rems ONLY to pad their own pockets with substantial raises.

Not ONE of these decisions is benefiting the taxpayers. Only the folks who got the raises!!

These people should NOT be in office and should be asked to resign....NOW!!

I don't care who the ambulance provider is. Not related to any of them and none are my friends. Don't even know who they are.

But there is clearly a mismanagement of taxpayer's money....and all for personal gain. THAT IS THE ISSUE.

Yep they shouldn't be in office

With over 50% of the voters not going to cast a vote they will stay in office

The revenge, backstabbing create an environment so negative that usefull voters choose to bend over and take it in the a$$ sans lube

This is the part where those getting raises(school bully's ) say "pay up"
