Channel 6 news had a report this AM re the REMS....never had a problem when REMS was called....they are stating long delays as the main reason.

Mohawk has over 30 ambulances....can cover the whole Capital district without a problem.....BUT...it was mentioned it was all policitcal because

Calder's son in law works for Mohawk...and taking care of family is more important than taking care of the residents...

Sounds like a Dem ploy......underhanded.....they will be done tomorrow.....

What good did it do to vote a few years back.....people spoke....we have a REGIME in charge.....

Yes the people spoke a few years back...but...all they voted on was forming a special taxing district for rems, which the voters said NO! I don't think anyone had an issue with rems being their provider....just wanted them to do it independently which rems said they could and would.  Personally i don't think the son-in-law thingy has anything to do with this....and it has everything to do with the 'raises'. Wonder how tjhooker feels about this since he was the biggest cheerleader of rems a few years back. chief of police vs x-chief of police.

TJ slipped the knife in while he was patting the back

they all know it now that the tip went in

"While Foreign Terrorists were plotting to murder and maim using homemade bombs in Boston, Democrap officials in Washington DC, Albany and here were busy watching ME and other law abiding American Citizens who are gun owners and taxpayers, in an effort to blame the nation's lack of security on US so that they could have a political scapegoat."

Because they didn't support the REMS, they supported the taxing district.  They just used the REMS as a vehicle to create a taxing district, in order to generate another stream of tax revenue.  No taxing district, no support of REMS.  Mohawk will generate revenue, now they support Mohawk.

The people in position to make these decisions care about one thing, how they can get more money in their pockets.

The solution is, leave it all behind, let "them" wring the last little crumb from the remaining chumps, start fresh somewhere else until that somewhere else becomes as bad as the place you abandoned. We are running out of "someplace elses".

Ohhh, now think back a couple of years on this one! Del Gallo was in power and the dems desperately wanted to get him out since he was not the "team player" they had dreamed he would be. He had scheduled the vote on the tax district and was basically against the tax district himself. So TJ Hooker figured they could harness the votes of the supporters of paramedics/REMS to blast DelGallo out during the next election and put their own people in!!!!

So they used the power of the the voters who were pissed at DelGallo against him for their own means!

Now that they have other and more powerful masters to please (their own patronage jobholders who want raises) they are figuring on throwing the paramedics and REMS overboard, taking the donations from the private sector, painting a narrative that says "We protected public safety and got rid of a system that was not working AND saved the taxpayers money!" for the next election. Remember that the plan is always "HOW TO WIN THE NEXT ELECTION" and in the next election(2015) they will announce a big tax cut (after next year (2014), where they will have a tax increase to build the reserves up for the 2015 election budget.)

Keep in mind they PAID the price for this decision on Nov 5th so they might as well take their goods. They did it immediately and with swift retribution to the interests that cost them those seats. They did this to send a message and to make it as far as possible from the next election. They didn't dawdle on it for 6 months or get mamby-pamby, did they? They had a script for the deputy chief to read that said "they couldnt guarantee public safety with the current set-up due to staffing" or something along those lines, right? This was all perfectly done.

Now they are counting on the voters to do their part: forget this ever happened in two years!

I don't remember it that way. FDG may have been against a REMS taxing district.....but he let the taxpayers decide that one....which was an overwhelming NO!!  TJHOOKER was absolutely in favor of a taxing district and in support of rems being the main provider. Remember he went on and on and on for over 1/2 hour defending rems and a taxing district at a ROTTENdam town board meeting.

It appears that tjhooker got his a$$ handed to him 'by his own' and will soon be taken over. That's what they say at the donut shop.

And they are also saying at the donut shop....that this is far from over!!!

Let us remember too that when fdg was in power, Mohawk gave a proposal that would include taking over the rems garages, ambulances and employees to assure fast respond times. Not the case this time. This will cause a sh!t storm at best.

Again........... Redneck ROTTENdam is the laughing stock!!!

They did support a taxing district....but only if REMS was the beneficiary.

The private provider still will not cost the town anything...but there will no longer be any revenue for the Town....the revenue would have been generated by the
paramedic services the Town will no longer provide.

If the Town had acted on this no brainer years ago, as they should have, we may not have lost the paramedics.....a program in which the Town has invested an
awful lot of money....while revenue illegally retained by REMS all these years now probably totals into seven figures.

You wouldn't believe the meeting in progress right now at Pinewood Elementary....

Packed....standing room only.....fire departments......all of REMS rigs and employees.......YNN.....

Calder was suppose to address the Highbridge Association....Godlewski was talking....telling everyone about his in the dark status on everything.....

Suhrada's grandstanding was pathetic.....cheering Godlewski.....calling for Buffardi's resignation.....calling the cops "bullies" with REMS and the paramedics....
urging the Board to name Godlewski SUPERVISOR upon Harry's resignation.....

Contrived Q & A session.....asking if folks could "request" REMS when they call....if the calls would be "alternated" between REMS and Mohawk. Sorry Jack.....
doesn't work that way.....anymore than those calls were alternated when REMS was shamefully awarded that contract....the terms of which, by the way, remain
completely unfulfilled.

To say it was nauseating is an understatement........
