In more Schenectady renaissance news the Dunkin" Donuts at 2500 Albany Street was robbed at 5AM 8/22 by two bandits. The crime spree is not limited to the Northside. SPD is on the scene as the store is closed for investigators. Shootings, robberies, pit bull attacks but no need to change anything.
The only thing that needs to be changed is the leadership of the city, all they care about is being re-elected and lining the pockets of their big donors.

for the past (at least) decade, the schools are NOT graduating kids with even the very basic skills such as reading, writing and arithmatic.
these kids learn very early how to scam the system and get money/products in ways other than using 'educational skills/jobs'...because they were never taught them.
government schools have obviously lowered the bar on education and education is NOT a prority in this country.....and it is done by design!
can't say they don't get enough money. with the money these schools get.......every single kid should be graduating with 'average grades' at best. and that ain't even happening.
most of the 'applicants' at the dss at building don't even know how to write!!!!! just ask some of the workers there.

Where is the responsibility of the parents in all this...aren't they the first source of education, morality, decency, right/wrong, etc.? Isn't that where's it's suppossed to begin? Or are they the ones leading by example on how to scam? Schools teach book learning...family teaches life skills!!!!!

Buck, not saying you are wrong, but saying that it is not the result of a single group.... family has been deteriorating instead of strengthening. you don't have to read and write when the teacher is concerned about the standardized tests and GIVING the student the answers to memorize for a test that is no bigger in that child's life than blowing their nose one time.

More independent operators? The local news is filled with shooting, robberies, burglaries throughout Schenectady. Where is the Mayor demanding that this will not be tolerated? Where is the Commis appealing to the public for any information? A wall of silence. More action and less good intentions.
In Oakland, CA, citizens are hiring private security firms to patrol their neighborhoods. Their government can't afford police. I wonder what their taxes are like?
