Man shot in Schenectady

A man is expected to live after police said he was shot twice in the abdomen Tuesday night near the corner of Crane Street and Sixth Avenue.

Not exactly a renaissance. Is there a word for redeath?

Shooter didn't want to trade his piece for a pair of sneakers at the last gun buyback? Oh yeah, this gun actually fires.

I'm not surprised, that's right near the library. I made the mistake once of walking my kids over there.  I was honestly scared, not in the "oh gee, this isn't a great neighborhood" way either. I had to walk through a group of young gentlemen and the looks I got let me know that I was not welcome, not a little bit. I practically ran out in front of traffic with the kids because that felt safer.

I don't even like driving in that area anymore, but I will NOT walk there again, that is for sure!

My kids all grew up in the "hood" and my daughter went to the Crane St. library not too long ago with her two little ones and said   never again.

Crane St. has become the new Craig St.  Such a dam shame.

SCHENECTADY --  An arrest has been made in a shooting in Schenectady.

Due in court Thursday is 21-year-old Stephen Wallace of Schenectady.

Police say he's the one who shot a man on Tuesday night near the intersection of Crane and 6th.

Wallace is charged with attempted murder and assault.
