That pavilion on Central Park, the one surrounded by a chain link fence, you have to pay to use it, but some people still do. Invariably, they will be blasting music all over the park, which I think is odd for a family gathering, but maybe the big sound system comes with the rental and they want their money's worth, I don't know. Anyway, you pay something like 50 bucks for four hours, but that is only for a "quadrant", the whole thing will cost you $200.00. Wouldn't you think that $200.00 would entitle you to use of a bathroom with toilet paper? Apparently not, because the bathrooms today lacked basic amenities like toilet paper, soap, hot water, paper towels or a hot air hand dryer. At least the ladies' room did, I saw it for myself, I have no direct knowledge of the men's room. It isn't the kind of dispenser where someone could steal the paper. I'm told that there is never any soap or hot water available, yet you have people using the picnic facility and preparing food. What a ripoff.
Non-residents pay more than $200.00.

Another reason to go elsewhere, why would anyone pay to be put in a caged area when there is free picnic tables and BBQ pits elsewhere in the park. As far as the toilet paper I guess that is to be expected in this city, I would suggest Cooks park instead, nicer, safer, friendlier and yes always stocked with TP

the reason that there is no TP or anythiing else....it was either destoryed, stolen or whatever by the thugs that go there whenever they want to...

it is not safe and I don;t care who disagrees with that statement....my experiences were great back in the mid 90's....then things started to happen....

all of a sudden the scum discovered the park and casino.....after a few times of putting up with this disrespectful behavior....stopped going there....

especially after there was a murder at one of the swing sets.....and the animals (birds) were not getting the care they deserved....and the bathrooms

rooms were closed during the daytime......gone are the days of a great and beautiful park and all the activities that were fun and safe to go to.

Let them have it.....if it was near the downtown area....do you think that the park would be neglected and there would be no TP???....

Schenectady and all it's glory days are gone....and there is no way it will ever have a RENAISSANCE.....anyway what does that mean????  fancy word

from clueless government..

Carry it Carry out

remember when you would go see the animals behind the cool park fixtures like the giant chromed steel triangle

and you could actually go parking in the park

Taxpayers already pay for the park
But have to pay more to use some areas of the park

City won't use the taxpayers' money for toilet paper in the park bathrooms
But the city gives the taxpayers' money to King Philip for a gold ceiling!

Toilet paper in the park, an ESSENTIAL, VITAL, ABSOLUTE NECESSITY to the taxpayers and residents who go to the park.
Taxes go up up up
ESSENTIAL city services are eliminated
UNNECESSARY services such as fancy new lighting are added
(such as, the STUPID "fancy" street lights on Erie Blvd when the existing lighting was more than adequate)

Again, they (the nayboobs) are just miserable folks ...while not bothering to get off their lazy behinds to do something to help BUILD UP their community.

We ARE doing things to improve this place.  Stating the truths and getting those truths spread throughout the city so that residents will know how they are currently being scammed by the city/co/plex leaders, is the most important thing that can be done to build up the city and county.   Remember, the statements we make are indeed the absolute truths, as proven by evidence from official sources such as tax rolls and deed records (to prove the falling tax base resulting from downtown and the falling home sales and prices as a result of downtown).

And now, the best thing that can be done is this issue of toilet paper and pavilion, that should IMMEDIATELY be called in to Channel  6 for the "you paid for it" segment because the taxpayers have paid through their taxes for the park, ALL it's amenities, and the taxpayers have paid for the toilet paper.

So, Dv, the question is (can YOU answer??    Since the city taxpayers have paid for toilet paper in the park, why isn't their any for them to use?

So everyone, call Ch 6 and other channels, ask them why no toilet paper?   Ask them why toilet paper is taken away from park visitors in favor of a golden ceiling for King Philip.  Or ask them why the city has a new policy of requiring people to bring toiler paper to the Central Park.   Get a catchy phrase to capture attention.

Start out by going to the park, to the rest rooms, and take photos, be sure the date feature is turned on, then e-mail the pics to TV stations.

Call the radio too.

Watch, DV reads this, he'll be on the phone before you can blink an eye,  to warn the mayor.   At least that MIGHT get the city to get some toilet paper in there.

Go on Facebook and ask the council people.   By the way, the ONLY elected rep who will answer people on FB is Riggi, again, the ONLY ONE TRUE representative of the TAXPAYERS.

The rest of them do NOT answer their constituents.

The reason there is no tp is that no one bothered to stock it. The cardboard tubes are still there, the paper was used up and was never replenished. I've seen those restrooms in much better condition, the city has practically abandoned the park. Taking $200.00 bucks from somebody and not providing anyhot water and soap is ridiculous. Thugs did not steal the hot water. IMO whoever collects the money could at least stop in and make sure things are as they should be. How long would that take? Okay, we don't have as many parks department workers. We don't have as many parks, either. We also haveprivatized large sections of our remaining parks, so what's the problem? No one available to do ANYTHING?
McCheese should do restroom duty, if he can't manage to get any of his staff to do it.

I might if I lived in the city and paid the horrid taxes there.   It's up to the city taxpayers who pay for the stuff to contact the media regarding the misuse of their tax dollars.

There are various websites with boards like these.   People complain but don't do anything beyond talking within the group of "members" on such a board/blog.  Many people never think of going to the media with their gripes.  Explained in a creative way to the media, it can be an inviting news piece.  Media often likes to interview the caller.   Really, what sounds better?

Christine, of the TOWN OF Rotterdam, questions why there is no toilet paper in Central Park i the CITY OF Schenectady....

OR

Suzy, of the CITY OF Schenectady, questions why she pays taxes to the city to fund essential services, and toilet paper in a city park is an essential service, but there is no toilet paper.  She paid for it.  She wonders if her money, and that of all taxpayers in the city of Schenectady, which is supposed to pay for essential services is being diverted away from the park she pays for and being spent fancy, UNNEEDED new light poles downtown.

You see, a "you paid for it" does not work when a person who doesn't pay for it would be interviewed for such a story.

The thing is, if the people who are using the pavilion are okay with it, my complaining for them is not going to change a thing. I wonder whether the bathrooms were maintained for the recent lobster dinner fundraiser they held there? NFP's pay WAY less to use that building. I don't know, I didn't happento see the bathroom when they were there. It would be interesting to know if there was a difference, wouldn't it?
I do complain about things in the park, I called a few times when BS was mayor, he did not give a damn. That decrepit construction trailer, left over from the OTB tennis days, that was called in recently because with the entire park to play in, kids were breaking into it, and now it is gone. I don't know for sure, but I think that was called in to the police department so it could be that's why there was action taken, I don't know. The taxpayers would have had to pay if someone's unsupervised brat got injured running in and out of there.
Allegedly, the city is going to work on Central Park, but when I heard that, I thought "oh, no", because their idea of stewardship is to build a bunch of structures they think look la-di-da and then either abandon them or give them away. That music haven building, it's nice to have those concerts, but design-wise, that brick structure doesn't belong there, plunked down in the middle of a beautiful landscape plan. The rose garden looks beautiful, but that brick outhouse looking thing they put up blocks the view from the street in part, and there is also a large dumpster permanently on view. What I wiah is that the city would just do their job and maintain and supervise the park, not bring in one of their godawful "plans" that end up wasting our money and destroying something historic and nice. I think they do it on purpose, let stuff go to hell so no one will object when they "save it", by destroying the history and giving money to cronies. That's what they did downtown.

Schenectady with its infusion  of immigrants and under-privileged are used to crapping in a hole or pipe and the itch that goes with it

having a toilet filled with water is just awesome to them

do your duty, flush, dip hand in water, wipe and repeat

scrub when done

there is no need for TP

Well, we know that's SO true of the Gazetto! Election time is coming up Bumble, can't wait to read the unicorn and rainbow articles of the lousy Councilmembers up for re-election. No talk of their puppet-strings, no mention of their inability to lower taxes or 'fees', no mention of their blinders on with each Galesi grant-theft, etc. It's going to be a hailstorm of lying crap!

We might need that TP real soon.....

The highest taxed City in the region can't afford a%$ wipe in the Park. You can't make this up. Note to Exit: the triangle was a big slide. Every DEM
running for City Council needs to be dumped. Both the City and County need an enema but bring your own paper. Anyone renting
out that Pavilion deserves what they get-NOTHING. Don't call it implosion.

REALLY? And replaced by who, exactly?
The 'other side of the corrupt coin'?
They ALL want to control the 'piece of the taxpayers dime'!
