An article in the Gazette from 1946 about my grandfather and being evicted etc. So my Dad, grandmother and aunts and uncles were homeless, read
the pride in his words and got very choked up what he said about the one on the way and his kids.

http://news.google.com/newspap.....amp;pg=699%2C3170953

My Dad never told me about this, sorta heard something way back but no one ever elaborated.

What the article does not say is my aunt who was 6 at the time had cerebral palsy and back then they wanted my grandparents to institutionalize her, but they said no and cared for her at home her whole life.

The one on the way in the article is my youngest aunt who has early onset alzheimers and not doing well

Yup and my Mom's parents the same way.

I've been having some difficulty and my Mom (who herself stuggling and getting up there in age)  calls almost everyday asking if I need anything and I
keep saying "Mom, nope everything is fine"  She always says you wouldn't lie to me would you

    its like when you
hear a woman helps her husband through law or medical school and then he gets up and leaves

Interesting history. I looked up some mundane things about some of my ancestors, the thing that struck me the most was how the city's paper really covered everything that happened in the city. Online, my foot, newspapers lost readership when they switched to "lite" news and canned features, with lots of white space to make it easier for illiterates to get a shallow understanding of a story without actually having to read. The Gazette went downhill well before anyone had a home computer.

Looks like real estate is about the same price now as it was in 1946
