I'm glad she's leaving, and I hope the door hits her in the butt on the way out.
I second that. For a personal reason.

i went to the link......the house is pretty nice....very 'country like'. honestly, i don't see where there is any MAJOR work to be done. one could certainly move right in......and perhaps they will 'before' november.

what i find most interesting is that this home is 1400+ sq ft.....4 bed rooms, three baths, over an acre of land......and the taxesare $6000+!!

we know many many folks who live in the woodlawn area with cute 'little capes, about 1000 sq ft, 2 bedrooms, 1 bath, no sunroom, a small city lot and the taxes are about the same.....REALLY!!!!!

Kudos to Councilmember Brucker for taking this strong and reasoned stand on the issue.

SERIOUSLY?

Was that the issue of being concerned for the plight of the city taxpayers?

Also worth nothing is the FACT that Brucker will cast a vote on a tax INCREASE for 2014, a TAX INCREASE that she knows will largely not affect her!

It is not acceptable that she be allowed to vote on that!

Another question, her house is up for sale.

She HERSELF is quote as saying the house they bought needs "extensive extensive" work.   And referencing the resignation in November (meaning wait to see the results of the November election til she resigns) as if to say, they will have their new house fixed up by then.

She has her city house up for sale.

What happens IF it sells in the coming weeks, BEFORE November?      Guess the McC newspaper didn't think to back her into a wall and ask that question, huh?

But of course, since so fw people are willing to buy IN the city (and the OFFICIAL, non-tabloid, EVIDENCE proves that to be a FACT), wonder if her house will take a year to sell.

Interesting that Brucker is NOT using McC's puppet Mary Mary to sell the house.   Perhaps Brucker know that Mary Mary is not a good realtor.

Wonder if Brucker will have her house on the taxpayer funded gala bus tours of open houses next month.

if it weren't Brucker casting the vote.....it would be the new 'appointed' nutcase that would.

True, it would be someone who would not have read the discussion, someone who had not participated in budget hearings and discussions,e tc.

It would be a direct order by McC and the dem party to vote YES to steal more money from the homeowners, to increase taxes resulting from a DRASTICALLY FALLING tax base and the forcing homeowners to pay for the taxes of the rich and/or political cronies downtown.

Their Patrick Court house has been for sale for months but hasn’t sold yet. Nonetheless, the Bruckers aren’t stuck paying two mortgages : they paid off the mortgage on their Schenectady house in 2009. Brucker has owned that house for 27 years.
She said she’ll be sad to leave that house — especially now that it’s all fixed up.

"...all fixed up..."   ??????

Take a look at that kitchen!     Really?   Black refrigerator, stainless range, and white range hood.    Those cabinets ARE ORIGINAL to the house, nothing fixed up there.   Then look at the formica countertops which also has formica backsplash.  And the chrome molding on edge of the counter and where the counter meets the wall.  Totally OUTDATED.   It's going to cost a fortune to fix up that kitchen alone, a good $20,000.  Only thing that could be considered "fixed up" in the kitchen is that it has hardwood floors which some people like in a kitchen and some prefer ceramic tile, the latter of which is better in a room that might be more prone to spills, water, etc. on the floor.

They have conveniently not included a good pic of the bathroom, probably not "fixed up" except the light fixture

And the yard, check out the yard, looks like nothing but dirt and weeds, no lawn.

Do you really want her to pay the taxes she hiked? A total stooge for public employee unions. Queensbury is closer to Niskayuna? Plenty of houses available for her in the City. Reminds me of another dolt who hide the fact she was moving to Erie, PA. Hopefully more will flee and resign in disgrace. Don't have a clue how to get out of the hole they
dug. The top machine vote getter has fled the jurisdiction.

I told you so.

DV REFUSES TO ADDRESS THIS.   It's PROOF POSITIVE of the failing city so he avoids comment.

Total Taxes: 5200

and these taxes are 'estimated'.

For a TWO bedroom home? For 1300 square feet?

asking $117000?????

Pathetic!!!

Good luck!

No it's so Schenectady. The assessments are double the market value. Maybe it will sell before Karl Erickson's or Eric Elys? You reap what you sow. Denise Brucker
"understands the importance of high taxes"-in destroying resale values. And watch out Glenville/Nisky voters. Denise loves a double dip and will be running for again.
There is no work to be done. That is an old trick the DEMS use to avoid another open seat on the ballot. She wanted to sneak out of town and stay in power. Like
that other piece of work that fled to Erie, PA.

WHAT?!? You mean the homes of Eric Ely, Councilman Erickson and now Denise Brucker haven't sold like hotcakes in the Renaissance?!?! That can't be true? Homes in nicer neighborhoods, pretty well maintained, well, what's the problem?

Oh, maybe..just maybe home buyers aren't STUPID and know that paying taxes which equal their mortgage payments each month isn't worth the investment in a City $5 million in debt, crashing property values and a horrible reputation of high crime and poor education.

Lower taxes ACROSS THE BOARD (not just for the friends and family club), get middle class families back in the City. They will bring the neighborhoods back to life, they will have their children enrolled in the schools and they will bring what $100 million Metroplex dollars have failed to do...they will change the reputation of this City for future generations.
