Gun Owners Tend to Be Angry, Unstable, Impulsive

Quoted Text
No big surprise, but a study has found if you have several guns then you are more likely to have anger issues.
The study was conducted by researchers from universities including Duke and Harvard. The findings were published
in the journal, Behavioral Sciences and the Law and showed more importance and focus should be placed on
individuals with a “history of violent behavior” and “less on diagnosed mental illness” when trying to reduce gun
violence.
The study also found that guns are “disproportionately owned” by those who are more likely to have trouble with
anger management and impulse control. The LA times reported

Just one more 'responsible gun owner".

There is no indication from that news report that he owned the weapon ... most officers wear their sidearm, but do not own them.  There's no indication from the report he went through a NICS check or not (The National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS) is a U.S. system for determining if prospective firearms or explosives buyers are eligible to buy.)

Therefore your statement is unfounded.

Florida mom shoots daughter dead after mistaking her for an intruder

Quoted Text
A Florida woman killed her 27-year-old daughter after mistaking her for an intruder,
officials in St. Cloud said on Wednesday.

Police said that the mother was sleeping when she heard something that sounded like an
intruder at around 11:51 p.m. on Tuesday, the Orlando Sentinel reported.

According to police, the woman fired a single shot at the suspected intruder before discovering
that she had shot her daughter, who died after being taken to a local hospital by emergency
crews.

...

St. Cloud Police Department declined to release the identities of the shooter or the victim because someone in the home works for a law enforcement agency. Police also declined to say if the resident who worked for law enforcement was involved in the shooting.

Again - no indication if the person firing the weapon was a LEO or wife of a LEO .. or registered / trained to use it.

I can understand why people are jumpy when they hear intruders.  Ya got cops raiding homes, blowing up babies faces with flash bang grenades, and shooting 7 year old children and getting away with it.

No indictments for Georgia SWAT team that burned baby with stun grenade

That explains the 'shoot first, ask questions later' when an officer of the law feels their life is being threatened.

Someone who resides in the 10th Street home is in law enforcement so the identities of those involved will not be released per Florida statute, according to Sgt. Denise Roberts of the St. Cloud Police Department.

Roberts would not say which household member was part of law enforcement or specify the agency.
