I am hopeful that ObamaCare will continue to evolve in the future to include a Single Payer provision. The 2nd amendment does not need to be changed, but gun laws do need to be updated to meet the disaster of Guns In America today.

Universal background checks does nothing to keep a gun from a law abiding citizen. And Most Americans Agree, Even The Majority Of Gun Owners.

How does that prevent criminals from getting guns illegally.

Marsha Lynch said she was braiding her daughter’s hair when a handgun fell to the floor and fired, striking her in the leg and then shooting her 8-year-old daughter in the head. Sharia Lynch died from the gunshot wound before she could be airlifted to an area hospital. Two of Lynch’s daughters who live in the home have been placed in child protective custody. Deputies seized a rifle from the home during the investigation.
More Gunz', More Death

More Gunz', More Death, on that I agree especially when the guns are in the hands of criminals using them against unarmed people.
So... Getting guns out of the hands of criminals would be a good thing??? How about Uniform Federal Gun Laws that keep criminals from trafficking guns from one state (where there are no purchase laws) to others. In some states... if you want a gun, the only restriction is the $$$
Federal gun registration. Which would allow gun tracking from source to use in a crime across the USA.
Law abiding citizens would lose nothing with the passage of these laws.

I think this would work, as long as Federal, State, and Local government agents had to register their guns too, and the register would be entered into a public data base that could be accessible online.

I would support a law where all guns are tracked, including military, police, and private citizens. The military now tracks it's weapons from purchase to disposal. Police who also carry a non issued 'clean' gun are a problem. I have no problem with them carrying their personal legal piece with them, but all guns must be registered and tracked. Citizens who own an unregistered gun should face strict fines, as well as citizens who own legal guns but store them in an irresponsible manner.

Yes...And the private citizens must have access to a data base with the names of those government agents that have registered guns. The government agents permitted to carry guns can register their firearms with the NRA or GOA, sort of a checks and balance.

Cissy wants the NRA or GOA to be involved in Gun Laws??? OMG Cicero! FUNNY!
