Huh???  The kid is an adult.  The father is responsible for the sins of his son?  I guess if he bought him a bottle of liquor for his birthday and he killed somebody in a drunk driving accident, the father is responsible for that too.   Man, you statists are all the same.

Call me a statist will you.  Well let me tell you something you wannabe "Sovereign citizen"

Want to use the drunk driving analogy?

The father didn't give him the bottle of liquor. The father gave the keys to the car to the obvious drunk who then went out and killed somebody.

So much for that "personal responsibility" that you neocons preach.  It's the dad's fault - jail him!

I guess with your analogy, you are suggesting the father gave his son the gun as a gift, knowing his son was planning to go into a church and smoke 9 people?

Neocons can always find a reason to jail somebody.  Or bomb them for that matter.

NRA Blames Charleston Church Victims For Their Own Deaths

Charles Cotton, a board member of the NRA, said that Reverend Clementa Pinckney, a
state senator, was not just to blame for his own death, but that of the other eight victims.
According to Cotton:
~ "And he (Pinkney) voted against concealed-carry. Eight of his church
members who might be alive if he had expressly allowed members to carry
handguns in church are dead. Innocent people died because of his position
on a political issue." ~

In the NRA view, you are being irresponsible if you go to church unarmed.   If some criminal
shoots you, it's your own damn fault!

Guess this proves that 'Gun Free Zones' are just as effective in churches as they are in schools.

No it proves that the NRA's answer to guns killing Americans is to arm everyone...
Since they represent the gun manufacturers and chemical companies, they are protecting
their lobby's interests.  They have no interest in limiting or ending gun violence in America.

The gun is an instrument, it is NOT the reason people kill.
Maybe we should start looking at the CAUSE of the violence instead of an instrument to commit it.

The cause???
In the case of the Charleston shooting, the CAUSE was RACISM.
The means?
His dad gave him a gun.  Had he not had a gun, those 9 people would be alive today.

So... Hell YEA... take a look and do something about the CAUSE,
and I'll continue to try to do something about the MEANS.

You have no idea if he would have said "oh, well" if he didn't have access to guns.
It was mentioned that MLK Jr delivered a Eulogy in the same church for 4 black girls...who were killed by a BOMB exploding in a church...guns laws didn't work in that case, did they?

Racism itself has a cause, you can't just say "lets get rid of racism" without understanding the contributing issues.

He could have had a pressure cooker filled with explosives and shrapnel. Those 9 people plus another 9 people could be dead.

Good luck trying to do something about the means to murder.  This demented guy could have waited until the church service was over, and used his car to run down the crowds exiting the church.

Btw...didn't you post something about spinning this to fit an agenda?  Hmmm.  Luckily you aren't doing that.

Author Steven King on Gun Control:

Quoted Text
Until responsible gun owners support responsible gun control laws, innocent blood will
continue to flow. How many times must we see this?
Too many closed minds on gun control. Worse, far too many PROUDLY closed minds.
Meanwhile, the American shooting gallery remains open.

The old MYTH that "gun control won’t stop gun violence."

Quoted Text
There are more than three times as many Americans killed by guns per capita
than in any other wealthy nation, and more than ten times the rate in comparable larger
countries such as Britain, France and Japan.

Many of these countries have similar problems with crime, drugs, urban deprivation and
youth violence, others are more peaceful, but there is one simple thing that countries
with less gun violence have in common with each other: they have fewer guns.

No one can predict the future of a more gun-constrained America with certainty, but the
evidence from dozens of comparable societies points to a clear causal relationship between
access to firearms and how often they are used.

Hey Trunk of Trona, when you provide a quote, could you at least include the source of that quote? It really would be helpful for further research. TIA

So it is an inherent human condition that crosses all nations and cultures, that if you permit people to buy guns, they will inevitably turn into violent crazed killers and start shooting people with them?  If I was British, French, or Japanese, I would be offended that you believe the mere possession of a gun would turn me and the country I live in violent.

So if France, Britian, and Japan had US gun laws, they would have the exact same rate of gun violence?

NRA Starts Up Their sh*t About What Would Be Even Greater Injustice
NEWS IN BRIEF
June 19, 2015
Vol 51 Issue 24    News · Death · Guns · Violence

FAIRFAX, VA—In the wake of Wednesday’s mass shooting that left nine dead at a church in South Carolina, sources confirmed today that National Rifle Association officials had already started up with their sh*t about what would be an even greater injustice. “What happened in Charleston is a terrible tragedy, but what would be even worse is if we reacted to this event by passing laws infringing on our constitutional rights,” said NRA board member Charles Cotton, who, right on cue, let loose the same predictable flood of steaming horseshit about how the real threat facing Americans comes from legislators who would attempt to restrict access to firearms. “While we mourn those killed, we should never let an incident like this distract from our defense of [the fact that I myself am a pile of human waste who is fundamentally incapable of responding to the deaths of innocent people without raw, putrid sewage gushing from my mouth].” At press time, the NRA had called on Congress to honor the victims of Wednesday’s shooting by passing a law ensuring that citizens can protect themselves by carrying semi-automatic weapons into all houses of worship.
