Here it is, the "hottest" time of the year for real estate sales.
For the month of June alone, the number of sales this year compared to June 2012 has a DROP of 52.2%. Just a mere paltry 12 sales. Price drop too.
But again, one month is not the best indicator. Anyone with knowledge of real estate will tell you that six months of sales is the ideal. So, the first six months of 2013 saw a DROP in sales by 8.7% compared to the same 6 months in 2012. The prices has a drop of 3.5% over the same period last year.
Who said the city is improving?????????? TOTAL SILENCE - will NOT make an appearance on to provide even the teeniest shred of evidence
And the DEMS keep up with their wild uncontrolled spending of tax dollars and what is the result?????

But of course, the dems just absolutely have to lavish a half million dollars on the multimillionaire Galesi to build apartments in a city that month by month is seeing an ever growing list of EXISTING VACANT residential units.
And then of course, make the financially struggling homeowners pay Galesi's property taxes. And what small time landlords get exempt from paying property taxes?

Just reporting the FACTS, the TRUTHS, and presenting the EVIDENCE so that people will have the accurate information what the WILD UNCONTROLLED spending on downtown is doing to the city.
Anyone have any "facts" to the contrary, please say so and present your evidence with a link to official records. Otherwise your alleged facts are just fairy tales.
City folks need to remember this in November. Actually TAXPAYERS in the towns need to as well since the spending on downtown is negatively affecting the whole county (see thread "working together works?)

Miguel Berger , 2013 GCAR president says, “When we look at the first half of this year we focus on several different statistical data points. The first, which is probably of most interest to home owners, home buyers, and persons considering a change in their housing, is the median and average price of a home. If we compare the January through June values of this year against 2012 for the same period we see that both numbers, the average and median price, increased by 4%.” Mr. Berger adds, “Couple those statistics with an increase in the number of closed transactions of 6% and we have an active, healthy residential market. Certainly the market could be even better but so much relies on external factors that it is hard to project a significantly better market in the near future. But what we have right now is very good.”

If ya think that taxing the 'exempt' businesses will lower taxes for the residents.....then i have a bridge to nowhere to sell ya!!
