This really pisses me off. The house next door to me which is owned by the city, the windows have been broken out for months, called code
enforcement and told they don't have the money or staff to board up the windows as there are so many houses the city owns that need repair.

The house has been used by vagrants.

Police have come and told ME to keep an eye on it and they would contact the city.

The police told me that two months ago.

I am concerned if there is a fire in that vacant house that my house will burn

The city/county handing out money and PILOTS to those like Morris and Marcella but they expect seniors etc to fix every little problem with their houses   which most cannot afford because of the dam high taxes, the high cost of food and medicine etc.

City orders financially struggling homeowners, under threat of hefty financial penalties and/or jail:

Quoted Text
The city of Schenectady is holding its residents accountable ... City leaders are hoping to address issues including chipped paint, ...

... and then paint ....," said Schenectady's Chief Building Inspector Eric Shilling.

Quoted Text
But city officials have not invested much to maintain those houses ...
city officials decided they could only afford to spend $2,500 per house on maintenance, Building Inspector Eric Shilling said.
Shilling said ...
“I’m not quite sure what assistance we could do,” he said. “Obviously, we have limited resources.
...

City collects rents but claims they cannot afford to fix houses.

SOME landlords have trouble collecting rents, the city refuse to evict, tenants do damage, but the city will order the landlord to fix, under threat of HEFTY FINANCIAL PENALTY and/or JAIL.

Homeowners are struggling to feed themselves, pay their insurances and medical bills, then they have to pay their own taxes AND they have to both build lavish new buildings for the millionaire cronies of the city/county Dems AND they have to pay the taxes on these downtown property owners--taxes on buildings worth MULTI millions.

But when the homeowners say they have limited resources and cannot afford to fix stuff, city says too bad.

And since the city is causing a DRASTIC HUGE REDUCTION in the tax base because of downtown, the city is ALSO causing even more reduction in the tax base by causing home values to plummet because of the blight that the city will not take care of on the properties it owns WHILE COLLECTING RENT!

No wonder this board's dem cheerleader refuses to live in the city, not even to rent!

No wonder this board's dem cheerleader refuses to post and speak about the evidence of failure of the city and county dems.

Optimists close their eyes and pretend problems are non existent.
Better to have open eyes, see the truths, acknowledge the negatives, and
speak up for the people rather than the politicos and their rich cronies.

The DSS building is probably the biggest eyesore ... yet I highly doubt Galesi has to clean up that $16-million-dollar-county-leased rathole.

As a matter of fact...leave you're property in poor shape, it works for Galesi. He gets a 1/2 million from the council anyway. Bunch of hypocritical, spineless chumps on the Council and the Mayor leads the herd.

Can't wait for Riggi to be Mayor, Galesi doesn't have enough money to buy him off.

Outrageous!  They asked a mere citizen to supervise government property?  I assume you are not trained, licensed, and insured to perform such a complex job.  Only a government employee or a state licensed citizen could ever perform such a vital task.  That's at least a 60k a year job.

Gakesi need do nothing. They give the politicians orders, dummy.

"While Foreign Terrorists were plotting to murder and maim using homemade bombs in Boston, Democrap officials in Washington DC, Albany and here were busy watching ME and other law abiding American Citizens who are gun owners and taxpayers, in an effort to blame the nation's lack of security on US so that they could have a political scapegoat."
