People are getting their letters today. Government times bad news for release on Friday. Guess what? People are getting "not enough supporting data" back. I saw one of the packages before it went out. It was impossible to have included more supporting data. The process is "fixed", but we knew that, nothing will discourage young people from moving to an area faster than a "fixed" local government, especially in
an area that costs them tens of thousands of dollars. Not having people assessed accurately when you know it is inaccurate is not incompetence, it is criminality.

Exit is correct...I went onto Small Claims and was granted a 10% reduction on my assessed value.   The local Boards of Assessment Review are biased because the members are from the local municipality.   It's definitely an 'old boys club.'   Rotterdam is a good example of the club.   With Small Claims, the "judge" is from another area.  Mine was from Glens Falls and he was a real estate attorney.   I encourage anyone who lost with the BAR to go forward with Small Claims...you won't be sorry.
