I went to the rose garden today. It was beautiful. My kids and I had a great time strolling through....then I told them about my grandmother bringing me to the park when I was a kid...the train, the paddle boats...the park is nothing compared to what it use to be. The only reason the garden is so nice is because it doesn't rely on taxes, and is run primarily by volunteers.

Fact is you are using skewed data. You're basing your info off Trulia which includes the Schenectady addresses that are actually in Albany County/ Guilderland, as well as homes in Rotterdam and Niskayuna. They are not just city is schenectady homes.

Here are your 566...as Parent stated, they may be listed as Schdy, but that doesn't mean in the city of Schdy. Look at them and you will l see they are all over including Rotterdam.

The FACT is that, while certain people post claims that NO properties are selling in the City of Schenectady, properties in the City of Schenectady have indeed been sold. These certain folks are what I call "nayboobs" -- constantly complaining and constantly making nasty, often slanderous, always vicious attacks about anyone who dares to disagree with them and their distorted view of the world.
If these folks hate Schenectady so much, they should just leave, and go someplace where they might be happier. They certainly would make the rest of us happier if they took their anger and negativity someplace else.

I would love to leave Schenectady, but my home has depreciated so much we are more or less trapped---unless we want to take a huge financial hit---a few more years and we may be more willing to do that.

DV, what period of time do YOU claim 566 properties sold????? In the past 3 years? Please provide the from and to dates, and please provide your source from OFFICIAL DEED RECORDS filed in the county.
Also, what source says 566 in the CITY?????? Please provide a link to a source that provides your alleged evidence. And please cite where the source is from official deeds filed from sales within the city.

By the looks of things, people are packing their bags and leaving. I just don't know if they can afford luggage after the bath they took when they sold their homes. They are most likely packing their things into garbage bags.
Oh, those poor suckers that bought these properties 40-50K below the listed price, they think they got a deal. They bought a money pit and a lifetime of harassment from the building code enforcers.
