So since I have no children I school should I pay school taxes? If I don't that means those with children will pay more. Should people pay based on how many children they have in school? It's a simple formula to spread the cost across more people to lower the individual cost. Voluntary taxes, like I said, would not work....who would voluntarily pay?
If you had no children you shouldn't pay. Should you pay for sewers if you have a septic system? It would make it more affordable for those that use sewers. Maybe people using sewers should pay for my septic to get pumped. We're all in this together, the community needs to pay to pump my sh!t.
Its simple, things like firefighters can be privatized, many already are, you pay a yearly fee and they will help when you call. Some city units will go outside their zones but those people have to pay to get service, if they decide not to pay then they're not covered. Not all tax funded programs and services are bad but I think even you would agree not all of them are needed, those services that people don't use they should not have to pay for, but again you don't pay you don't get the service. Box says I'm greedy but he is the one who wants my money for services I don't use or want, he is the greedy one. He also says I'm selfish, maybe if you consider putting yourself and your family ahead of others but who here wouldn't. If I got $100 left to my name my family comes 1st, when I have more I usually donate or help others. Its not greed or selfishness it is survival for many.
Henry's system... The poor (with no money) pay for welfare, since they use it most. The disabled (with no money) pay for their support because they use it. The Rich (with most of the money) pay for nothing since they can afford private water, police, fire, etc. The Rich (with most of the money) send their kids to private schools and they succeed. The poor (with no money) must pay for public schools which deteriorate from lack of funds, and the poor kids fail. How could you describe that system??? Selfish! I got mine, Screw Everyone Else! EVERYONE benefits if America is well educated... not just those with kids in school. The doctor, the lawyer the plumber, the teacher, the scientist, the cop, the roofer... the more educated the populace, the more the entire population benefits.

One free education per citizen. That's the entitlement. It isn't one free education for each of your children. The entitlement is to the person. We all pay,we are all entitled. It is the entitlement you receive before you become an adult. You don't pay just enough for your one share. It's an entitlement. Not tuition, not a user fee. It is probably one of the best things our government does, because places without universal free education tend to be hellholes. Places like Brazil that recently have been thrown up to us as some kind of good example are hellholes waiting to be revealed. I can remember when being in "the Linton Area" was a selling point for a house. Those houses were taxed higher, and people bought them as fast as they became available. It isn't the taxes, it is being taxed beyond one's ability to pay, and getting nothing in return.
